have a little look see at the angels today. they are a nice dog with a good pitcher vs a weak yankees pitcher. I think I'll be playing this one small with a 5 team parlay. could be a good payout.

The Angels offense has been very erratic. I think the Yankees will do just enough to get by the Angels here. The road dog I like most is the Tribe. Liriano never fares well as a favorite and the Twins aren't a good daytime team.

yeah, i'm not touching the tribe game. i hate betting on both team, and i'd say liriano is the better pitcher easily, but the way minny is playing doesnt make me comfortable laying cash on either side.

sure, they have been playing well, but so has atlanta...and lets not forget that ATL is a great home team, and hanson/atlanta seem to have the padres' number.

I am a Braves fan and actually watch the games. I am not liking what I have been seeing out of Tommy Hanson. He has been out of form and in a funk for sometime now.
Hanson, bulit an early reputation on a mid to upper 90's fastball with a devastating slider and curveball. Those haven't been in his tool bag for quite some time. He is around 91-93MPH with a hanging slider that I have not seen him bury in weeks. It just spins and stays on the same plane. He has gotten away with alot of stuff to lesser teams. A few weeks ago I seen him get away with alot against the hapless Mets. He might get away with it tonite against the Padres since there offense is weak to say the best.
Just wanted to let you guys know you are not getting the real Tommy Hanson here. Will it matter? Don't know, but the Braves have raked Jon Garland in the past, but for the most part the Braves offense has been ragged it for weeks on end. They have been winning with good starting pitching and a lights out bullpen. Most likely the Braves will not tag Garland tonite like they have. Some of the guys that has been carrying the Braves offense have cooled off considerably, but the good thing is Jason Hayward is starting to heat up. I imagine Cox wil sit Diaz tonite since he is facing a righty and Diaz has been a main contributor offensively lately. Without Diaz over the last week the Braves would have fared much worse.
Good Luck.

I have a bad feeling Hanson's throwing motion will put him on the DL early and often, lyon. Reminds me of Peavy. I think he's pitching hurt right now, actually.

That's my guess as well. He has lot 4-5 MPH on his fastball and his slider is pathetic. Do you watch the Braves nocoin?

A little. It's amazing how much Cox squeezes out of this team on a yearly basis. I think they win the East, but if Hanson gets/is hurt.....same goes for Hayward, Glaus, Chipper, etc. They seem to be put together with duct tape right now.
I dropped Hanson from my Fantasy team a while ago. Didn't like what I was seeing.

Thanks for the comments.
It's not going to be easy but I'm still confident the Braves will be brave enough for a win.

Besides the Braves good starting pitching and lights out bullpen they have enjoyed employing more depth than any other team in the Majors. Yes, I am a homer but there depth plays a huge roll. There bench is as good as I have seen and cox can mix and match with several capable guys. For months Prado has carried them but he is due a correction and is cooling some now. he lead the Braves streak and Glaus provided as well. Glaus is becoming a non-factor currently. The Braves are going to have to get other guys to step up if they are going to continue winning the East.. The good news for them is the Mets are the Muts and the Phillies haven't got there act together yet, but I am fully aware the phillies will make a run when they get healthy and hit there stride.
The only real question mark is Hanson for me and as you elluded to his health. I think you are right about him. He probably is pitching hurt to some degree. Chipper, has been hurt/non factor most of the year and the Braves have proved capable with out him. Heyward is looking like himself again. Braves need some better offensive production moving forward..
On a side note Jair Jurgens is hitting his stride. His velocity was up some last nite and his fastball had alot of late life on it. I know it was against the Padres but he would have been effective against many teams last nite.
