well, first things first, i have confidence in Roch. i made the investment and took the risk of loss, so at this point, i'm not asking to bail. that said, i hear you on needing to nail down the strategy (e.g., 1 per day, 2 per day, variable), and obviously, if the strategy doesn't work out, this will end at some point, so if things don't turn around (and they will), we may have to drop the program. i'm willing to ride it out at this point.
as for Roch - Roch, brother, you know what i'm going to say: money management. 2dabank managing the bankroll with your picks is why i liked this idea. with your own points, if you're going all-in or playing crazy parlays, recognize that you're going to have to break that habit. otherwise, even if things work out and you get a nice free play balance, if you play your bankroll that way, you are bound to end up busted. that is a truism: he who goes all-in eventually busts. all the time and effort you put into being a good capper is a waste if you don't play your roll properly, and that's a shame, because you're a good capper. hope that doesn't come off like me lecturing you in your own thread, because that's absolutely not my point. i really appreciate the work that you do capping, that's why i'm along for the project. few things:
1. Roch, nice hit on Padres. lot of guys on the board liked that one, but i'm pretty sure that you were on it first, so kudos, pal.
2. per the gambler's falacy, past results obviously don't impact current plays. as such, if both Roch and 2dabank like the Cards, that having bad results last time is a BAD reason to lay off, i say. if there's another reason not to like it (maybe crazy line movement, bad weather) that's one thing, but don't let a previous lost cost you a win today too. i'd say play it a standard amount, not large, not small.
3. Pittsburgh Player, no worries, thanks for the morning laugh. sure, i'd be down with contributing to such a think tank. i do that daily with about 4 of my chucklehead buddies who bet a lot of soccer and only occasionally post on SBR, but read a lot of threads. bases aren't my strong suit, i'm sort of a beginner, but i'm happy to weigh in with my thoughts. sincerely, the Financial fukker. i figured as much, you're not really the superstitious type when it comes to making plays. and i know what you mean about everyone being on a game. i wanted to go big on Padres yesterday, but kept it standard because so much of the board was on it. i wonder what would the results are in "majority-of-the-board" plays like that. like everything else, i suspect between 45-55%, but we just tend to remember the losses more....Comment -
