I'll predict only ONE of these Spankees finish with 20 plus and his last name won't begin with an "S" This guy with the heat in the East may suffer from Heat Exhaustion unless he drops about 20lbs!

The smart play is go to a card shop, and buy as many rookie cards of Jimenez as you can now!!! If by some chance he breaks the record his card value will 10X (a rookie winning 30 games)

I actually remember the '71 Orioles. One of the best teams to not win the WS.

Jimenez not really on track for 30, as the all-star break is not the exact halfway point of the year

He is actually on track for 28

But I don't see him breaking 25.... let's say 24-5 to finish the year

They went to 3 staight series...69, 70, 71, only won in 1970. Very easily could have won all three.

they need to throw him in to vulture some wins in September if possible, get him 30 wins!

closest has been Bob Welch in 1990 with 27 wins!

Just saw an old interview with Brooks Robinson this weekend on ESPN Classic. He noted that the O's won the two World Series they weren't supposed to and lost the two they were favored to win. That includes the '66 Series when they were big 'dogs to the LA Dodgers. If you ever want to read about great team pitching performances in a World Series, start with 1966.

Brock, if Colorado is in the chase for the pennant/wild card to the end like it looks like they will be, you could see Jimenez come in a crucial moment in the few games if it was literally neck and neck for a spot and they were playing the team they were chasing the playoffs with.

but I don't see them taking a chance with such a valuable arm, by throwing him out there extra... its not just the risk injury....but especially right before the playoffs why would you take a chance in burning your #1 starter out
