I should've just stuck with the Cardinals. Instead, every other play I'm throwing out there is going to shit (Tigers, Nats, Yankees RL, Cubs, Phils....)

At least Piniella had a pulse on when to pull Lilly.

            He's such a shitty manager.

Cubs was the right play today. Ted Lilly has pitched well for years at home and leake had struggled his last few starts. I got the cubs at -121 and i beat the closing #. You cant ask for more in gambling. The right play doesnt always win.

I couldn't agree more. Problem is, you never know when the Cubs will revert back into the Scrubs. How can you not hit Leake? And Piniella left Lilly out there to rot and die. This team does everything wrong.

agree, but you are forgetting one of Bankers most important rules...When i think cubs are the play pass and move to the next game, that rule will save you a lot of grief long term....i broke it yesterday and got away with a W even though they made it pretty hard, so wont happen again for quite some time..cubs could fuk up a wet dream....

Piniella doesnt care anymore. He is just collecting on his fat contract and finishing off his career.

He's worthless -- much like the entire franchise.

Problem is, the Cubs' brass will never have the incentive to build a serious contender. They make so much $$$ off Wrigley Field, and have a bunch of Yuppie fans who really couldn't care less about pennants and such for the most part. Now they're stuck with a bunch of falling "stars" who make way too much and will only continue to decline (Lee, Aramis, Soriano, etc.)

It's a clusterfuk of an organization, that's for sure.

No Piniella is a good manager. He has proven that in the past. Like you described he has fallen into a bad organization. Lots of good managers have went there and failed. He had a great team in Seattle and he won the series with the Reds in 1990 in one of the biggest upsets in baseball history. This isnt his doing, he is just part of the politics.

But like you said, they rolled Lou out of retirement. It's like Weekend at Bernie's. Just a bad time to hire him; he was dumb to take the gig.

I faded the Cubs once the opening line came out.

I mean the cubs are horrible. It wont change.
