    Rockies Might Be A Good Play Tomorrow
    First the recap. Won easily with the Cubs last night as they beat up the A's 6-2. For today, I'm breaking down the Rockies/Twins game. Twins have taken the first 2 in this series winning 9-3 in Game 1 and a nail biter yesterday with a 2-1 win. Rockies turn it around today folks. Classic pitching match up we got here with Jimenez and Liriano on the mound. Both pitchers have been spectacular as of late as Liriano has won his last 3 starts and Jimenez has won his last 2 starts. Couple things that have caught my eye in this one. For starters the Rockies are a good inter league team. They are 16-6 in their last 22 inter league games, and that's counting the last 2 they just lost against the Twins. Going even deeper, you will see that the Rockies are 6-1 in their last 7 in inter league play against left-handed starters which I'm glad to see because the Rockies do not hit lefties all that well. Rockies love when Ubaldo pitches apparently, they are 6-0 in his last 6 starts against a team with a winning record, 5-1 in his last six starts in Game 3 of a series, and a tremendous record of 21-5 in his last 26 starts as a road favorite. Point is the Rockies have faith in their, ace and they do what they gotta do to get him the win. Now the bad news for Twins backers. Twins don't play well on Thursday's for some reason when Liriano takes the rubber. They are a cash draining 1-6 in his last 7 starts on the 4th day of the week. Twins don't fare any better in Game 3 of a series. They are 0-4 their last 4 during Game 3's of a series. I dug deeper I found out that they are 3-7 in Game 3's coming off a win and the Rockies are 4-2 coming off a loss in Game 3's. Not exactly great news for anyone that likes the Twins, know what I'm saying? Now onto the Umpire. We got Jerry Crawford behind the plate for today's pitching duel. Another negative for Twin's backers. Home teams are 3-6 in 9 of his home plate starts this year. This same ump called Jimenez's opening day start back in April against the Brewers. The result was 8 innings pitched, 1 Run, 6 k's, and got the Win. Ubaldo threw an amazing 99 pitches this game and guess what? Mr. Crawford called 66 of them strikes. That's 66%! And last but not least, the road team is 4-1 in Crawfords last 5 Thursday games behind home plate. So there you have it folks. My money will be on the Colorado Rockies tomorrow afternoon, how about you? Fade or play, best of luck my friends.

    As always, for good measure. A few other trends that I liked for this matchup:
    Twins are 3-10 in their last 13 games as an underdog.
    Twins are 1-4 in their last 5 after scoring 2 runs or less in their previous game.
    Twins are 1-4 in their last 5 when their opponent allows 2 runs or less in their previous game.

                        Great write-up with good info. At first I would normally jump on Colorado for this game, especially since Minnesota has already taken the first two games but something tells me Col -110 is too good to be true with their ace on the mound. Liriano is good but hasn't really been tested at home against quality pitchers other than Hudson and Pettitte. Other than Hudson from Atl, Liriano's wins have come from Cleveland, Baltimore, and Tim Wakefield from Boston of whom should retire. Jimenez is 7-1 on the road and Liriano is 3-2 at home. In most games Jimenez is favored by much more than -110 and I'm sure the public will jump all over it, which will be in the books favor. Minnesota is 4-1 against Colorado in interleague play which includes the last two games played. I think this is a spot for a letdown by Colorado's ace Jimenez. He's been pitching extremely well and I think its finally his time for a bad game or one in which his team loses. I could be wrong on this but I'll take my chances with the Twins at home as dogs. Best thing to do for all those interested in this game is to watch line movement and public% on the game.

                                    I thought getting Ubaldo at pretty much even money seemed too good to be true.

                                      Thanks NC. Not sure what people wanted this line to be? You have one of the best AL teams in the Twins. They just took the first 2 from them and it's not like Liriano is a scrub, guy can be sharp when he wants to be. I guess line could have been shaded a little more towards the Rockies, but I agreed with the line and glad I went the way I did.

                                              Ok. I think I found another one for tonight:

                                              Not a huge write-up for this game like I usually do because I do not have a lot of time. But here is what I got. Later tonight the Royals send Anthony Lerew from Triple-A Omaha to the mound. The move was made after the Royals placed Luke Hochevar on the disabled list with a strained right elbow Wednesday. This guy has not won a start since May of '07 from what I can see, but that all changes tonight. I will admit, the Astros do have the edge in starter tonight, but that is about it. The Royals, have a better bullpen, better hitters, more speed, and a better bench than the Stros have. Also the Astros a batting a pretty miserable .233 against Righties this year and they are a TERRIBLE road team. Do you know that they are 20-50 in their last 70 Road games? WOW. To make matters worse they are 1-6 in their last 7 inter league games, and 0-4 in inter league games against a right-handed starter. They let Brett Myers take the mound tonight, which doesn't help Astros backers. The team is a miserable 1-5 in Myers' last 6 road starts! Onto the umpire. Mr. Tim McClelland is behind the plate calling the balls and strikes and boy do home teams love seeing him. Home teams are 12-2 in his 14 starts behind the plate this year. The Royals are 4-2 in the last 6 games that he has officiated. If this game was tomorrow I could go on for at least another paragraph, but there you have it. The night play is the Kansas City Royals my ninjas.

                                              As always for good measure, here are a few other things that I saw that helped with my decision.

                                              Royals are 4-0 in their last 4 games vs. a starter with a WHIP greater than 1.30.
                                              Royals are 5-1 in their last 6 games with the total set at 9.0-10.5.
                                              Royals are 4-1 in their last 5 home games with the total set at 9.0-10.5.
                                              Royals are 4-1 in their last 5 games following a loss.
                                              Royals are 4-1 in their last 5 Thursday games.

                                              Kansas City Royals +100 {Action}

                                                    Told you Astros had edge in starter, but once that Bullpen comes in, watch out!

                                                      Kansas City Royals +100 {Action}
