Top 5 reasons why I am backing the miserable Bucs today on the road against the best pitcher in the game.

1. Halladay is coming off his highest pitch total in his last start, 121 at Colorado.
2. Halladay has thrown his highest pitch counts in his last 3 starts, 121, 119, 118. In his other 5 starts he has thrown: 104, 113, 100, 111, and 88, starting from most recent. I know Halladay is notorious for going deep into ballgames but he has thrown 358 total pitches over his last 3 starts compared to 516 total in his first 5 starts of the season, I don't care who you are this has to have some kind of impact on you.
3. The Bucs for some odd reason hit well against Aces, can't usually hit shit against bums but for some odd reason they do fairly well against the top arms.
4. 3:1 return of your money, never a bad idea on the diamond.
5. Duke is due for a big game, the kid is a descent pitcher but has struggled of late. Plus it is better to go with a lefty arm against this Phils lineup (Howard and Utley) than a righty IMO.

I didn't agree at first with them shipping McLouth out the door but obviously that turned out to be the brightest move they have made, McCutchen is a player for sure.

Nice info Houly, figure if I'm going to play them I am going with the value on the ML not the RL. Ibanez doesn't make much of a difference IMO but Utley out is an advantage to the Bucs.

His numbers for the starts following those starts were 77 IP with 13 ER, giving him an ERA of 1.52 including 6 CG and 3 shutouts. One of the shutouts was following a 133 pitch outing. Just figured I'd share what I found.

Good info and I'm aware he often goes deep in games with the pitch count getting up there and he often fares well (best in the game IMO), but in this case I was stating that his last 3 starts were his highest pitch counts of the entire season and that I think that 3 game stretch could have an impact on him tonight. 121, 119, and 118 in 3 straight starts is a lot for any pitcher and I feel with getting over 3:1 on my money, its a good play backing the Bucs tonight.
