not sure i would go that far but no damn way they should have paid him as much as we did, especially after the choke job he pulled in the playoffs last year

Absolutely not excited about that at all. That could have been a huge momentum swing for the offense if they put up some more runs...at least some more good at bats. I Hope they at least win this game, but I don't feel like they got their shit together yet. Thankfully the pitching has kept Nats quiet.

Seasonal Averages (per 162 games played)
YEARS G AB R H 2B 3B HR RBI BB SO SB CS AVG OBP SLG OPS
5.49 162 614 108 195 43 5 28 110 60 114 15 5 .317 .386 .542 .928
Career .317 hitter and .542 slugger who averages 76 XBHs per year.
Those are his career numbers averaged out to a per season line. Of COURSE you pay him 16 million.

..um, did you see him when he reported to spring training? He's still taking phd's for sure...pro-hormones at the VERY least. And don't forget he's only 30, most hitters peak at about that age.

Its only a matter of time before Holliday makes posters like this look bad. Almost every player that signs a 6+ year contract has very slow starts. They try to hard to prove to the team, organization, and fans that they are worth it. And then there becomes blogs and posts like this that people think they wasted money.
Give it time Spippen! Holliday will be the same MVP type player here before long

I will, thanks, and looking forward to Holliday dominating so we can all win some money on St Louis and not worry with close games, bring on the blowouts!

Since this thread his average has dropped about 20 points, Matt Holiday is clearly stiffs' defined. Anybody disagree?
