Have you checked the numbers on the two pitchers in this matchup? Silva is rated higher, and has pitched better than has Haren. I will be on the Cubbies. The only reason the D'backs are favored is b/c they know everyone will jump on that "sweet" line.

antifoil, where are you finding this info? I'm interested in taking a peek at those rankings. And honestly, I think it does mean something. That one pitcher has been hurling better than the other. They are ranked by their performances.

Silva is a ground ball pitcher, Haren could give homers in the wind, I still like Arizona but the wind blowing out is what make the line like this.

Lines are set based on public perception. I know Silva has better numbers thus far, but that the D'backs would be favored. I did not know the line would start out so low, to be honest. If Haren is that much better, then why not give us the Cubs @ +120? Hmmm... I wonder.

Silva is not this good. Look at who he pitched against and when he did it.
Apr 9 - Cin - nothing special
Apr 16 - houston at the time they were 1-9
Apr 21 - mets - hadn't really started playing well

The fact of the matter is that he cannot control which teams he pitches against. The only thing he can do is perform well when called upon. I guess you can add, May 1 - d'backs, b/c they aren't that great either.

To be honest, I'll have to check the rankings I look at tomorrow and see where Haren falls in line. At this point, it's the Cubs, or no play. If Haren slides into the top 20, I'll take a look at the under.
