Anything I'm Missing on Cardinals -145 ML?
Carpenter vs Wolf. The only thing I could see is that the Cardinals have struggled against lefties in the past and might cause them to lose??

Tough to even see that being the reason with righties Ludwick, Holliday, & Pujols as power bats.

Seems like a sure bet to me.

    Thoughts?

I don't know man, I looked into it too. Seems like a good line, considering all the -200's out there tomorrow. Maybe people aren't expecting the Brewers to get swept at home? As a team the Cards are only hitting .268, but according to ESPN on Carp "In his previous start in Milwaukee on Sept. 7, he recorded his only shutout of last season -- a one-hitter with 10 strikeouts in a 3-0 victory." I'm on it, BM has it at -150 right now

9-2, 2.05 ERA on the road for Carpenter in 2009.

Interesting stats, but take into account Wolf started against St. Louis at least once (Possibly twice) when he was with the Dodgers last year, a much better offensive team than the Brewers are.

Should be a good game - that is why it's on ESPN. I tend to fade those games and kick back and have a cold one while just watching.

                2009 Splits vs LHP:
                Ludwick: .269
                Holliday:.289
                Pujols: .338
                Molina: .248
                B. Ryan: .265
                F. Lopez: .320

As you can see, only two, arguably three in Holliday, of the 6 probable starters have a good history against lefties from last year. I didn't bother to list Schumaker or Rasums' splits because I know there's a 90% chance Schumaker will not start tomorrow with Lopez' splits against lefties and there's a small chance Rasums may not, but probably will with the way his spring & early season has gone.

To help lean you back towards the Cardinals side..

Carpenter had an BAA of .198 and a WHIP of .88 while pitching on the road in 2009.

Was it Wolf that usually had a tendency to settle down after one inning? Considering something small on StL to score 1st depending on the line. I like that StL Phillies parley also TWG.

Thanks MaddHatter. Going for the exact same Parlay/Moneylines 2 days in a row.

Not sure why the Oswalt stats are listed, unless you confused Wolf with Oswalt as he is a righty and the Cardinals will not see him in their home opening series.. But the Carpenter stats are relevant, somewhat.

Cardinals have seen Wolf more than the Brewers have seen Carpenter...Now I feel more comfortable jumping on the Cardinals.

                          Thanks patrick.

                            Per MLB.com:
Carpenter dominated the Brewers in two starts at Miller Park last season, holding the Crew to no runs, three hits and two walks in 17 innings of work, while recording 20 strikeouts.
I'm really looking into this matchup if you couldn't tell.
