"can’t go against the Phillies today as they send postseason ace Cole Hamels (13-11, 2.94 ERA) to the mound for Game 3 in San Francisco. Hamels looked great in the NLDS against Cincinnati and he’s certainly been through many postseason wars before, so today in San Francisco won’t faze him.
Hamels threw a complete-game, five-hit shutout in Cincinnati in the first round of the playoffs, and he was outstanding down the stretch for these Phillies. He has allowed a grand total of one run in his last 24.2 innings on the road, and overall the Phillies are 6-2 in his last eight starts. He made one start in San Francisco this season and gave up four runs in six innings of a 7-6 Philadelphia victory, striking out 10 and walking four. The Phillies are 6-2 the last eight times he’s seen the Giants.
On the hill for the Giants is right-hander Matt Cain (13-11, 3.05 ERA) who hasn’t pitched in 10 days when he threw in Game 2 of the NLDS against the Braves. He gave up one unearned run in 6.2 innings but the Braves ended up rallying for a win, 5-4. His previous home start to that was in the final series of the season when the Padres got him for six runs in four innings of a 6-4 victory.
Cain saw the Phillies just once this season and gave up five runs, only two earned, in six innings of an 8-2 loss in Philadelphia. He’s made five starts against them in his career and the Giants are just 1-4.
Philadelphia comes in on several positive streaks, including 22-5 on the road, 53-20 overall, 37-14 against the N.L. West, 37-16 against right-handers, 5-1 when Hamels is a road favorite, 6-2 with him on the road and 5-1 when he faces a winning team. San Francisco is just 5-11 at home against teams with winning road marks".Comment -

I was in agreement with the play last nite on the Yanks and it lost, it happens. Tonite the play on the Yanks is as strong as you will see in this playoffs imo. Yes, Burnett has been a dissapointment. Let's not forget when guys of his caliber struggle during the season and get an opportunity to step up in the playoffs they usually come up aces. All that Burnett has done that has been dissappointing will be wiped out tonite if he comes up big. Remember, in NY you are graded on post season success. Yankess take going to the playoffs for granted and will not care what he did April-September. Just like when A-rod was MVP of the league a few yrs back and chocked his balls off in the playoffs. It took A-rod coming thru last season in the playoffs for the fans to forgive him. Just wait.. Burnett comes up aces tonite he can carve out his own legacy because this is a big game and the Yanks sure need him tonite like never before.
All that being said I look for a strong performance from Burnett tonite, but it really doesn't have to be mythical for the Yanks to win. I think Tommy Hunter will be ripped tonite. Hunter, has been servicable pitcher, but tonite's task is daunting and the atmosphere might be more than he would like to handle.
Yanks at -145 is value. We have a pitcher that has went from the hunter to the hunted. Went from the favorite his whole life to the underdog tonite although the Yanks are favored Burnett is in a underdog's role and I think he relishes it tonite.Comment -

LB you already drew your line in the sand with your SF (1X) play, although that's your smallest unit wager so I know your confidence in this play is minimal.
You read lines and movement, and sometimes you just have to throw that out the window and play the game. Sharps can't account for that mistake error, or pitch that shouldn't have been in the wrong spot. Cain is an average pitcher with an average line up providing minimal run support. If you want to read lines, then from my book nice money just came in on the Phils to -117.Comment -
im really liking the over on the yanks game. the TT lines are set high at 5 for the yanks and 4.5 for the rangers. wouldve loved to play the TT for the rangers but i think the over9.5 is the best play here. can't wait for this game to start.

What are you suppose to do with a plyaer thats struggling? I wouldnt call it a desperate move its the right move especially since he hasnt been swinging the bat at all since coming back from surgery. Im outside for the pre game show!
