#3117Everyone in this long term knows that you will endure stretches where it doesn't matter what method you use to choose your picks, you will go on a losing streak. You could make the squarest of plays, picking all the favorites on the moneyline and still lose, that's just how it goes. They key is to bet what you can afford, don't chase, and forget about the results of the last bet you made. Approach it the same way a baseball closer would after blowing a game.Comment -

#3120My reaction at times reading this thread =
I'm not here to defend myself and I don't need to. I've never once told people to follow my plays. All I do is post the plays I play. Simple as that. Want to follow. Be my guest. Want to fade? You're more than welcome. Did I have a losing day in baseball yesterday? I did, but guess what. I had a HUGE tennis day and a HUGE basketball day. Did I have a losing day in baseball today? I did, but I'm confident I'll be up big around 1am after all the NBA games are done. So after a 12 day period of about 84% I am on a losing streak. Perfect time to fade me then right...Comment -

#3121A few losses and the haters come out in force as I said they would. this is the reason 99.9% of the posters on this board lose their ass betting on sports. They expect every play to win, use terrible money management and fly around these boards jumping on the next hot poster with no regards to actually capping the games themselves. Earlier in this thread TB warned that she wouldn't keep up the 80% pace (not her exact words but you get the picture) and would come in AT THE END OF THE YEAR at +around her average of 60%.
Time to jump ship and get on the next hottest thing and lay my whole roll!
Sometimes I get the urge to over bet but then I glance over my records and it brings me down to earth, bad days happen and its just not worth the risk.Comment -

#3123TB,
Thank you for ALL your plays. Winners and losers. Maybe some of the naysayers will fade now. The thread has been getting too cumbersome. It is better for all of us who respect you and your wisdom if a lot of the mouths move on. Keep up the good work. With you all the way.Comment -

#3124@ TB: Thanks for what you've done so far lady. Very much appreciated. People gotta realize that sometimes we kick & sometimes we get kicked. As long as the former is a higher %, life is groovy.
@ mikey360: How'd you set up your spreadsheet? Trial/Error or did you find something on line as a guide? Just curious. I didn't use the best money management yesterday & would like to put a spreadsheet in place. tia.
Thanks TB for sharin' your picks.Comment -

You really don't need to. If there some idiots thinking you have to hit all your bets, then just ignore them. Your inputs are much appreciated.

#3134I just use Open Office (free app) which has a spreadsheet, I have a sheet for each sportsbook I use, I just have a few boxes for selections, wager amount then win/loss, balance and strike rate, I also have my units listed 1-3% and base my plays on those amounts, right now im playing TB picks as 2% to win or risk depening if its a favourite, that way its rare a play will exceed 3%, doing this since I started TB picks im 24w 11l $528.11 profit and 68.57% win rate.
Its really easy to do and quite fun setting up and keeping track of everything.
Mikey, thanks. I knew I was going to over think the spreadsheet until you pointed out what info you include. I like your "kiss" principal using just a few important items rather than too much information which tends to lean towards analysis paralysis.
Gracias & BOL!Comment -

#3135I just want to add my two cents here. Another problem is that people bet more than they can afford to lose. Tailing good cappers is a great way to make some dough, but we also need to be prepared to lose it. For example, I just started tailing DG in baseball last weekend, and made a decent amount of money over the weekend, and I found a couple other cappers that were doing well and I tailed them at smaller amounts, too. Well, as it happens with everyone, they had a little cold streak, but all at the same time. As a result, my bankroll is down to next to nothing. Luckily for me, I'm only down a couple hundred so I'll go to Western Union tomorrow and put a little bit more in one of my accounts, and start to tail in a more disciplined way. There's a reason so many people are on this board. Obviously TB has been doing something right, so if we just calm down a little bit we'll be back making some dough sooner than later.Comment -

#3136This quote from snatch sums up some of the haters of this room perfectly:
Brick Top: Listen, you ****ing fringe, if I throw a dog a bone, I don't want to know if it tastes good or not. You stop me again whilst I'm walking, and I'll cut your ****ing Jacobs off.
you give them like 12 out of 14 days of winners and these turds cry about the 2.Comment -
