I'm thinking under 9 runs, Sabathia and Beckett.

#3I almost always pick the over when it comes to Yankees/Red Sox. Sabathia struggled his first start last year and Beckett's always a little shaky against the Yanks (at least since the 2003 World Series).Comment -

#7I like the over also. There is something about two marquee name pitchers in an electric regular season game that seems to lead to a big inning early. I remember 5-6 years ago I loaded up huge on under 7.5 Jason Schmidt (SF Giants) vs. Kevin Brown (LA Dodgers) @ PacBell, with both pitchers on top of their game. It was 4-4 after the 2nd inning. Started paying attention to how often when the best two pitchers in a division meet it ends up going over, and it's often. Don't have any stats or science to point to, but it seems to be a regular occurrence.
I took NYY and over 9 parlayed on this one.Comment -

#8Round ball, round bat - historical matchups in baseball are overrated, IMHO.
But batter vs. pitcher stats seem to contradict my hunch here on over:
CC Sabbathia vs. Red Sox.
Historical ownage of Ellisbury, Pedroia.
Josh Beckett vs. NYY.
Historical ownage of A-Roid and Texeira.
HOWEVER, the last time these two squared off at Fenway (August last year), Beckett gave up 5 HRs, and CC picked up the 8-4 win. Two of those HRs came from Matsui (no longer w/ the Yankees). A-Roid, Cano and Jeter had the other three.Comment -

#12I think I am staying away from this game. I like the under, but there are some very good points being made that show the over does make sense as well.Comment -

#13I like the over a lot tonight. I can easily this game turning it into a hitfest, even with the two Aces on the mound. I also like the Yankees with a smaller play to win.
Been a long time waiting, but baseball is finally here.
GL guys with your plays.Comment -
