Best NRFI Bets for July 23
Coming off back-to-back sweeps, SBR's Dustin Saracini looks to stay hot with his best No Run First Inning (NRFI) bets for Wednesday, July 23rd:

Milwaukee Brewers vs. Seattle Mariners (-125 at DraftKings)
Quinn Priester (3.33 ERA) vs. Luis Castillo (3.21 ERA)
NRFI record: Brewers (59-42) vs. Mariners (51-50)

"This Brewers-Mariners matchup is feeding the lives of NRFI bettors, so we're returning to the well one more time with two studs on the mound.

Castillo has been dominant as of late, allowing just three runs across his last 18 2/3 innings. On top of that, he hasn't allowed a run in the first frame over his last 13 outings - it was May 9 the last time a team scored on him in the opening inning. And at home? Well, he's even better.

He's been a NRFI darling, and we're backing him one more time today.

Part of having success playing these NRFIs is riding the hot hand, and we're doing it again here with Priester, who's allowed just two earned runs across his last 12 innings. It helps us that the Mariners haven't seen him at all this year.

I'd price this play closer to -140 betting odds than the -125 we're getting at DraftKings. Bet on this with confidence as part of our best NRFI bets today."

New York Yankees vs. Toronto Blue Jays (-115 at FanDuel)
Max Fried (2.43 ERA) vs. Chris Bassitt (3.89 ERA)
NRFI record: Yankees (48-53) vs. Blue Jays (48-53)

"As a Blue Jays fan, it's tough to admit, but Fried has owned them over the course of his career. Toronto is hitting just .194 across 76 plate appearances against the lefty, and that includes the likes of Vladimir Guerrero Jr. (2-for-14), George Springer (3-for-9), and Bo Bichette (2-for-8) - he'll likely see all of them in the first frame. Let's ride him as part of our best NRFI bets today.

On the other side, we have "The Hound," who hasn't done quite as well against the Yankees, but I believe he'll be serviceable enough in the first inning to get us the three outs we need. Remember what we said about riding the hot hand? Well, that's Bassitt right now. He's coming off a 6 1/3-inning shutout against the Giants, and he's allowed just one earned run over his last 13 1/3 innings pitched. One more inning of shutout baseball wouldn't hurt, would it?"
