Joy To The World (3 Dog Night)
Marlins +149 - Moyer may be near the end of the line, as he has uncharacteristically allowed a lot of baserunners lately: 50 hits + 12 walks in 35.2 innings his last six starts = 1.74 WHIP. Vanden Hurk not much, but at least he has had some decent outings lately. Plus Marlins fall into Game 1 Dog System in other thread.

Blue Jays +141 - Clemens looked his age in his last start vs. the White Sox at home, and he had not been all that great on the road this year - 6.00 ERA, 1.47 WHIP. Did you know that JOSH TOWERS has a 3.68 ERA in seven home starts?

White Sox +117 - The bats have finally come alive, and a strong finish to the year would not surprise me, as the White Sox are much better offensively than they looked the first half. Westbrook has pitched better for Cleveland, but all his recent starts were at home. He still has an abysmal 8.78 ERA and 1.69 WHIP on the road.

              EaglesPhan,

That may be true but Tampa is a terrible team, worse on the road, with the worst bullpen ERA in MLB since the St. louis Browns in 1950!

True enough, but situationally I think the match-up is right if you want to take a risk on a big dog. Last night, I would not have because the pitchin match-up didn't warrant it. With tonight, Robertson could get lit up and yes Hammel likely will be gone by the 5th because his stamina is shit - but that's why they're the dogs!

Brutal night for me. Ended up 2-7 overall, with neither winner paying much (Mariners -102, Cards Under 8 +100). Meanwhile I posted that I liked the Over in Detroit and didn't play it. Oh well, NEXT!

                              pokernut,

I am a VALUE handicapper, so I could hit like 43% of my moneyline plays and still make money. So my dogs may seem "weird" when they go 0-3, but you gotta look long-term.

                                  EP,

I didn't bet the side, went with LT and the over; so when the slam left the yard, I thought "EP might just be right after all". Unfortunately, the woeful Ray pen did you in.

                                  Today's a new day!
