I love the Mets.
How do you think the Mets will do this year?

#118I think that the Mets will have a good year and be in great shape to win the NL wild card at the end of the year...
and then go down in a blazing infernoComment -

#121probably already responded to this but i really think they are the sleeper team of the year and have a very strong chance to take the whole thing. i know im gettin in on a future betComment -

#122im obviously biased but this year is big, everyone has something to prove, minaya and manuel will be fired if they dont make the playoffs, reyes may not get resigned, 1 of wright santana and beltran will be traded, there will be major changes and everyone knows it. They have the best lineup in the nL except the Phillies maybe, if there pitching can hold itself i think they can take the wild card i dont expect them to take the division.
David Wright is very motivated, watch out for the metsComment -

#123this team gets hyped every year, but i like what i see and hear from spring training so far, Ike Davis taking a run at Daniel Murphy's job, Wrights power, Francouer's attitude toward the game. Perez improving, i like it allComment -

#125I've been a Mets fan since I was very small, truly a diehard, and I can say with total confidence that they have no shot at the playoffs and will be lucky if they finish 3rd in the division.
They have no definite positives. All positives fall under the category of "ifs". They just need too much to go right, and that is no way to win a division.Comment -

#129you guys are living in the past- you will most likely be unpleasantly surprised fading the mets to start off the season.
not only do they still have carlos, carlos, david, santana still but they've acquired two players that had very effective bats for their teams last year in Jason Bay and Gary Matthews Jr....they are going to be a force to be reckonned with....their pitching rotation leaves a lot to be desired but they still have johan santana and mike pelfrey who pitched well last year and their bats will be able to pick up a lot of the slack.Comment -

#131yeah this team has the ability, everyone knows that, idk about mathews jr. but i am excited to see Bay hit the ball, Jose hit a tripple today in intersquad ball, cant complain with that although it was off of Tobi Stoner.Comment -

#133i think jason bay was one of the players of the year last year.
and as far as gary jr is concerned- you are correct- id never seen any numbers but i just knew he'd come threw a few clutch times when i needed the angels to finish off a parlay. .336 on base percentage and 50 rbis only 4 homeruns.....some of that stuff is ok but nothin too spectacular.Comment -

#135santana is a way above average pitcher and they have some way above average hitters. just need some contributions from some other people and that is i think the cause of everyones disbelief.
as a side note- they say that park is one of the hardest to hit balls out of- sounds like they need some outfieldersComment -
