The rules state it had to go 8.5 innings in most places AC.

When a game is called after 5 innings (4.5 innings if the home team is winning), it is official for Moneyline purposes. However, Runlines and Totals must go 9 innings (or 8,5) to have Action, so those bets are refunded.

So to answer your original question AC, the game is considered a 2-0 FINAL, and counts as such in the standings and will not be completed.

The only exception to this rule is when the road team either ties or takes the lead in an inning, and that inning is not completed (which has already happened twice this year, both timed involving the Cubs). In this case only, the game is considered Suspended for MLB purposes, and will be completed at a later date. For BETTING puposes however, Moneyline wagers will be based on the score at the end of the last completed inning, which means the home team will be graded as the Moneyline winner.
