I wouldn't pay no mind to those last 3 starts for Jeff. That has interleague mixed in. He is a decent pitcher in the NL. I would have to play Boston in that one if I was to bet it.
I like the Padres today, would like it even better if I could get plus money.

Despite the sweep they endured in Toronto this weekend, I like the Rockies quite a bit today myself.

When your WHIP is almost as high as your ERA, that's a sign that trouble lies ahead.

Looker,
Actually, Weaver did not have some starts vs. the NL mixed in with his last three - they were ALL vs. the NL!
And Razz makes an excellent point that Weaver's poor WHIP over his last three is a stronger indicator than his deceptive ERA.

Thanks for clearing that up LT. I wasn't sure and not at my computer to check on it. I'm currently posting from my Treo.
Excellent point Razz. That WHIP tells me the weak NL couldn't come up with that clutch hit. But I'm sure the Red Sox will.

All right onlooker....sell me on the Pads, what do you like about them tonight.
Footnotes: Before Weavers last start his WHIP was at 2.23. Thats dangerously close to putting 3 men on per inning. Yikes. Sometimes the guy finds his stuff though.
Tavarez is a gamer. You don't see emotion from many pitchers. I've seem him yell at his infielders for screwing up plays....which is not a good thing, but it tells me he wants to win every time out.
Who's been the better pitcher this year.....Tavy or Buehrle? I think Tavy's been the better pitcher than both Wakefield and Buehrle.
