Sorry, Benz. Sort of got busy with other things and dropped that from my list of things to do. I'll get something going in the regular season on a regular basis. In the meantime, mull these over...

    1) What's the fewest number of walks drawn in a season by a player who hit 40 or more homers?

    2) Five players tallied 4,000 plus hits combining their major and minor league stats. The first two are easy as Pete Rose and Ty Cobb each had over 4,000 just for their MLB careers. The other three had to add their minor league totals to their major league totals to reach 4,000+ hits. Who are they?

    3) And who was the first player to play in a World Series game after he had reached 3,000 hits in the majors?

        You got #3, Benz.

        3) Willie Mays was the first player to appear in a World Series game after reaching the 3,000 hit plateau. Say Hey collected his 3,000th hit in July of 1970 while with the Giants, then bowed out of the game with the Mets in the 1973 World Series. In case you were interested, Pete Rose was the second player to appear in a World Series game after reaching 3,000 hits.

        1) Hank Aaron is a pretty good guess, but wrong. The Hammer reached the 40-HR level eight times in his career, with his 57 walks in 1957 the fewest free passes he received in any of those eight seasons. The player you're looking for has done it since Hank Aaron retired, and the player in question hit 40 homers exactly while drawing just 22 walks

          No guesses?

Tell you what. Free shirt to anyone who can get either #1 or two of the three in #2. Nobody will ever get all three of the answers in #2, and if they do, two free shirts for that.

Correctamundo Pinhead Bichette had 40 HR and just 22 BB in 1995, the fewest free passes for any hitter to smack 40 or more flies.

Welcome to SBR, by the way. PM me your mailing address with a full name in case we do the registered/insured mail, plus your shirt size (Med to 2XL).

Very good! Got to either know it or have some pretty incredible resources to come up with Jigger Statz who had 3300+ hits in the minors and 700+ in the majors.

Same thing pic, PM a mailing addy to me and I'll stick a couple of shirts on an upcoming Pone Express outta' Dodge City here, and let me know if you want both shirts the same size.
