I am not absolutely sure that Lyles is for real this time around, but getting a no hitter thrown at you can be very inspiring for an offense, and at this point I think the Rangers show better offensive potential versus righty than do the Padres.

Dodgers usually play backups on Sunday afternoon. Roberts likes to give the old guys a short vacation when they are also off the next day. Betts will not play, Turner Muncy or Seager- I won’t be surprised if 2 of these guys get the day off.

Nobody on LA hits Scherzer particularly well. I think he pitches lights out today after participating in a HR derby against the braves earlier this week. Max has a history of pitching well against the dodgers. Good spot to bounce back as LA will be missing Betts, Bellinger, and possibly a few more regular bats.*

Kershaw used to be worthy of heavily inflated lines like -180 and above. In recent years he’s been more prone to the long ball. He pitched a gem last time out vs Oakland but those guys see breaking ball and swing at anything. Oakland was teeing off in the 1st inning, hitter gappers before they started flailing at sliders in the dirt, which allowed Kersh to calm down and avoid disaster. Nats lineup isn’t great either but capable of doing some damage IMO.
