Kirby Zhang's Moneyline & Investments. Write-ups and picks for Thursday August 20
    Another Step Towards Recovery

Hey guys, we had a pretty decent day yesterday, but I really hope we're able to kill the books today, I'm looking for a sweep at least my top five, and I'll do my best until we get there. Best of luck to everyone. I also want people to know that I've been doing unit calculations as well, Everyday on the thread intro I will post the record, and at the end I will end the thread with a EODR (End Of Day) Report. That way we can track our units together, assuming everything is placed as a single wager. I feel this is best because my investment strategy changes from day to day dependent on the game schedule, and number of available games, hope this helps. Kirby

Three Out of Four? You Wish...

      Minnesota @ Texas
      The Pick: Texas (-170)

The Texas Rangers need to make up some ground. After they lost yesterday and Boston won Texas needs to really show that they want to go to the playoffs, and not get played off like they mean nothing. But not to worry. Last Night's surge by Minnesota was viewed by some people as a unlucky turn of evens, but, the thing is, I actually expected it. Today I expect Holland to come out, and really pitch a strong and solid performance, Minnesota is going try to get three out of four, those greedy little bitches wont stand a chance, not today. With the victory, the Twins moved within 5 1/2 games of the division-leading Tigers. Minnesota was only two games back of Detroit on July 29 after winning a season-high fourth straight, but went on to lost 12 of its next 16 before the latest wins. Texas dropped one game behind Boston for the AL wild-card lead. The Rangers had won eight of their previous 11 before the recent defeats, in which they've given up early leads. Texas is trying to avoid losing its first home series since dropping two of three to Minnesota from July 17-19. Holland is 3-1 with a 1.88 ERA in his last four starts. After pitching a three-hitter against the Angels on Aug. 9, he gave up two runs -- both on solo homers -- over 6 2/3 innings of a 7-2 victory over Boston on Saturday. The 22-year-old left-hander pitched four innings against Minnesota on July 19, allowing three runs in a game the Rangers went on to win 5-3 in 12 innings. Look for Texas to own the twins tonight, their team needs it a lot more, Minnesota, although has built a little momentum there won't be any gas in the tank left tonight.

I just recently registered to this site... I have been following a few of you guys for a while now and I took the phils for for 2 units last night, but i am debating on them for tonight. I see you have them at the top of your list. Blanton has been solid his passed couple starts, but i dont like the line we are getting with him on the mound.

What are you seeing that I am not?

                    Boston @ Toronto - Boston (-170)

                    Florida @ Houston Over - 7.5 (even)
Atlanta @ New York Mets - Atlanta (+124)

Los Angeles Angels @ Cleveland - LA Angels (-145)
                    Arizona @ Philadelphia - Philadelphia (-175)

as you see above each parlay is independent of each other, except for the last one, which is called a safety.

Angels to Dominate Indians Because Indians Are Drunkards

                        Los Angeles Angels @ Cleveland
                        The Pick: LA Angels (-145)

The Angels have been totally and completely on fire. Look at them yesterday, no run production, but hey, if they can't score they'll make sure you can't either. After recovering from a piss poor performance against the Orioles last time Weaver came up and put his foot down. Almost every player on the Angels side is hitting .300, that's pretty amazing. While Los Angeles is averaging 7.6 runs in its last five games, it has given up two more runs than it did in the loss to the Orioles over the same stretch. John Lackey (8-5, 3.73 ERA had a really good outing last time, and I suspect the momentum and morale of the team will motivate him to do another splended job. Hey, this is Cleveland we're talking about okay? I mean sure they have been okay, not terrible, and yeah put them against someone in the National League and they'd look pretty hot. But against the Halos, a team who is threatening the Yankees, who the NY Yanks struggle against I can't say it's going to be anything of a good story. Despite the Indians' struggles at the plate, Choo is 10 for 17 against Los Angeles this season, that is definitely something to consider, but keep this in mind. If you're going to try and beat the Angels in a batting match your going to have some problems as well. there are two ways you win baseball games, solid pitching, or out hitting. The more balanced and consistent team here would be the Angels. maybe the over if you're really horny for action and you just can't help yourself.

Santana Not Enough To Beat Atlanta

                          Atlanta @ New York Mets
                          The Pick: Atlanta (+124)

I don't know if you guys saw the score last night or not, but the batters have woken up, and Santana pitching really won't matter. Great, they've got pitching, who's going to score runs for them, the ball boys? How about the pop-corn guys? There are probably more people in your living room right now than there are healthy Mets team members. Atlanta being the under-dog here is going to be something that is a mistake by the line setters. Atlanta (63-57) and New York (56-64) have split the first two games of this three-game set, becoming the first teams to exchange innings of eight runs or more on consecutive days of the same series since Cleveland and the Yankees did it July 4-5, 2006. Santana (13-8, 3.10 ERA) has had little trouble shutting down the Braves, posting a 1.96 ERA in seven starts against them. The left-hander, though, is 1-4 over that span, never getting more than two runs to work with, and that was before. Now New York is even more banged up what's going to happen if this game goes into extras? is Santana gonna hold the little Mets hand all the way to the 11th inning? Look, take a littler perspective here, after that show-boat move from yesterday it is clear who has the momentum and who got embarrassed. Could you imagine going to that Mets game? 16-2 haha, what mother ****ing joke. That score should be the result of Yankees vs. Quadriplegic drooling retards... Yes, people! and No, don't question me how people who can't move their limbs scored two runs on the Yanks, I don't know, they have wheel-chair pushers and shit... whatever. Look for Atlanta to teach baseball fans a lesson that should be already solidified, Great Pitching is Key in baseball, but Great Pitching and Lack of Run support = Loss of Game. The Mets get Owned tonight.

                            Philadelphia Too Much For Diamondbacks

                            Arizona @ Philadelphia
                            The Pick: Philadelphia (-175)

Haren, Piece of Cake.... Round three... and it's not going to be too much of a contest folks, a nice little third round knock out for the much exhausted Arizona Fuucktar....I mean Diamondbacks.. Philly will start Joe Blanton who has a 1.78 in seven starts, he's gone 3-2, but now with the Phillies new found success I say they are in the midst of a ass kicking streak. The only way Arizona is going to be able to match up against Philadelphia is by figuring out how to get productive bats at the plate. Philadelphia, which leads the NL with 168 homers, has hit 19 in its last nine games. Jayson Werth hit two solo homers, Ryan Howard added a three-run shot and Chase Utley also connected in the Phillies' latest effort. Catching up to this would be a tall order wouldn't you say? not to mention Arizona has struggled on the road, and defense is an important part of the game, but If arguably the leagues best pitcher defended Arizona last night and still couldn't win I can't say I would give Davis a shot at it. How would expect to pick up a sexy bombshell blond if you couldn't even charm the Large Cow looking woman sitting at the bar with the french fries. Here is the bottom line, you either shut down Philly so they can't score, and then put up one or two to win, or you try and out score them... outscore this... Philadelphia has four players with at least 25 homers: Howard (31), Werth (27), Raul Ibanez (27) and Utley (25). Okay okay, enough hype. Davis isn't terrible, but I truly believe he'll be overwhelmed. Davis is 2-1 with a 3.13 ERA in seven starts versus the Phillies. With Arizona struggling at the plate, Davis may not get much run support. The Diamondbacks, losers of six straight on the road and four in a row overall, have scored one run in each of this series' first two games. Diamondbacks slugger Mark Reynolds is batting .143 in his last eight games, recording 17 of his major league-leading 168 strikeouts during that stretch. He's hitting .222 in 15 games versus the Phillies.

I 0 for 2'd the morning games too. Those morning games are always set-ups

I TOOK CINCY OVER AND SEATTLE UNDER. BUT CINCY WENT UNDER AND SEATTLE WENT OVER.

OF COURSE, THE LOW SCORE 7.5 WENT UNDER. I ACTUALLY TOOK OVER 3.5 FIRST 5. I FIGURED THAT'S NOTHING COMING OFF A 1-0 GAME, THE BATS WILL BE READY TO GO. SO WHAT HAPPENS, IT GOES 1-0 SF, THEN THE GAME ENDS 2-1 REDS. CRAZY.

SEATTLE GAME JUST BLEW UP, I FIGURED ROWLAND SMITH VS. WASHNBURN WOULD BE A STUFFY, LOW SCORING GAME. WRONG AGAIN. I'M ICE COLD, SO I WENT HOME.
