My Betting System

Over the past year or so I have gone with a very interesting betting method that has paid off tremendously. It is about as basic as it gets with a simple progressive betting method that consists of chasing a loss until 5 losses. If I lose 5 times in a row I will lose 40 units but this has not happened to me since last August. I typically go with only one pick per day which is my strongest pick for that day. Since incorporating this method into my betting strategies I have picked up close to 200 units in less than a year's time. Although losing 5 times in a row will happen I am only losing 40 units. Even if I lose one time every 3-4 months I will still be gaining units during that period.

For tracking this thread I will be trying to win $200 which will be one unit. So my bets at -110 odds would look like this:

BET 1 RISK $220 TO WIN 200
BET 2 RISK $463 TO WIN 200
BET 3 RISK $971 TO WIN 200
BET 4 RISK $2040 TO WIN 200
BET 5 RISK $4283 TO WIN 200

IF I LOSE 5 IN A ROW I WOULD BE DOWN $7977 OR 39.88 UNITS ($200 A UNIT). EVEN IF I LOSE ONCE PER 3 MONTHS I SHOULD BE PICKING UP 40-50 UNITS OVER THAT PERIOD. IF I DON'T LOSE PER 3 MONTHS THEN I WOULD BE PICKING UP MUCH MORE (80-90 UNITS) WHICH TRANSLATES INTO $16,000-18,000 EVERY 3 MONTHS.



There will be no writeups in this thread just picks. As I chase further into the progression I focus more on the QUALITY so I may not release a pick for that day.

A very basic system, indeed, as old as the hills. It is not that rare to lose five picks in a row, even when picking your best pick of the day.

Hey, JC, maybe he's going to bet on a few run line bets, too. That way, we KNOW he won't lose 5 in a row.

Here's the thing, JMathes: You could win 25 straight series of these 5-bet progressions and no one is going to be impressed, because if you lose 5 in a row the 26th time, you're a huge loser. And it probably won't take that long to lose 5 in a row.

You say you are up 200 units in less than a year, which means you have won 200 straight 5-series bets in less than 365 days. That would mean it takes you only 1.8 bets on average to win 200 straight 5-series bets, WITHOUT a single series loss. There is not a single handicapper on Earth who could accomplish that.

What you have cited is virtually impossible statistically.

Well, it took just over a week for you to have 5 losing picks in a row. It's like I said earlier, jmathes, it's not that hard to lose 5 in a row. I've done it many times. I've won 10 in a row, too, so that can happen as well, but it is very risky to gamble on a 5-play Martingale strategy.

Now you will have to win 36 five-play chases in a row to make up for this loss. It only took you 4 chases to lose this time; you really think you can go 36 winners in a row? And then do another 40 winners in a row before losing your next chase, which would put you right back at square one?

Dude, I feel for your loss, been there myself though not with a chase like this. I wish you the best of luck with your future wagers.

Talk about a bad run...sorry you lost almost 4300, on a bet that started with 200....just shows how dangerous a chase can be...which I do warn about in my thread and stress money management first.... Well GL not sure to many will find this style of betting safe....

Got hurt in 3 chases of my own this week. Fla/Wash, Phi/Fla, LAD/Atl. Stayed off the last 2 today which would have inflicted some major pain. That time of the season. Tired arms and tired bats. Luckily still playing with house money.

Exactly picking the right chases a little harder than people think! That is why I only follow my system...none of the series you mentioned passed even half the filters.
