Keeping up with the format suggested by the public, I am showing my series wagers as well as daily leans on one thread. I also want to thank you twits out there, that is some funny shit. Without much more delay here's the skinny on how I am approaching the wagers for the first half of the week.
Clearly the Brewers have the Pirates number. They are 12-8 in the last 20 games in Pittsburgh and an amazing 19-1 straight up overall. Now that is something that can't be ignored. A series wager on the Brewers as usual. You know the drill. The Pirates have momentum heading into this series dispatching of the Giants in their three game series. The Pirates have won two series in a row only 3 times this year, so the odds are definitely out of their favor when you combine their futility against the Brewers for whatever reason, have their number. The wind is blowing out and it will be a home run derby. In a sick and perverted manner, I am also playing the Piratets as a JM play until they win one of these games on a seperate book. How sick is that? Hopefully they win game 1, and then the festivities can begin.
Brewers-110 for series vs Pirates
Well anyone who knows me knows that I love wagering against the Nats for the series. The Mets are hurtin' and can't afford to overlook this team anymore as in years' past. The Mets futility will make this line much more manageable. This is an autoplay as usual. The Mets are 14-6 straight up overall and 14-6 in games in DC. That's not bad. Alls that they will need is one of the games. If Santana is pitching a -1.5 play may be in order, but if that is the case, I may just let him win the game and take the series win without risking a RL play on them. The Nats bats are working better these days. This is th eonly one of these that I will play a team in the first game. If anyone knows the nuances about pitching at this stadium it's Livan
Mets+120 for series vs Nats
The Marlins are reeling now for lack of a better phrase, and they are not playing so hot. They were swept away at home by the Phils in a series that wasn't close. Their last game was a shutout loss. They automitically become a good play in spite of that. Both teams have hurting bats, but at least the Marlins have more potential to bust out the whoppin' sticks than the Padres, who are on a youth movement. The Marlins are actively chasing the playoffs. This shapes up to be a series of two teams going in opposite directions. I highly doubt that i will play Vandenhurk in game 1 however. If he gets the win, then great! The Marlins are 11-9 straight up against the Padres and 11-9 straight up in games in San Diego. It will be a tough hard fought series, but I think the Fish can pick up two wins.
Marlins- 135 for series vs Padres
NO PLAY too much chalk when I wanted to play it
I just couldn't stop myself from at least trying this one. The Cubs are just as hot as the Phillies, and i think that they have a shot of winning two of these games. The rotation has underacheived to this point for the Cubs, but Ramirez and co are showing signs of waking up. I am gonna bet withthem in this series so I might as well get a sweetener to go along with it. I am laying off of game 1 of this series to take advantage of better pitcher/hitter matchups.
Cubs-105
I will be taking the Astros in this series as well so I am gonna get my grits with cheese in this battle. The Stros are hot and I think that they can take two with that rotation and hitting. The price is a little steep for my liking, but I'll take it anyway because I know the majority of money will be riding on the Red Birds everyday. One for Willie Bee and his beloved Astros!
