Depends how you define "ace." I don't consider Lester among the very top in the league. But is he in the top 32? Yeah. He's still damn good and a guy you want on the mound in a big game.

He has a great defense backing him too, I’d hate to see his numbers if he pitched behind say cardinals defense!! Lol.. I think he will be fine, Rockies pretty good against lefties who throw cutters, cubs problems will be if he can’t go 7+!! That pen spent.

If the game is competitive either way, they're going to go straight to Hamels and then probably Strop who was just activated. If Lester can go at least 6, I don't think you'll see anyone else. Lester for 6, Hamels for 2, Strop for 1.
