He's been plenty bad before today, hasn't looked like an ace at all most of the year.

stale: i wouldnt say bad...he was injured early and started real slow but had a really good stretch as well where he was returning to form.

check his 10game log..he had won 4 straight http://sports.espn.go.com/mlb/player...?playerId=6216 in may and had some good outings.

none the less he has to come back to ACE form to keep them going here...but phils are ok I am not worried about them especially with the mets being a TRAINWRECK

Once again I gave Hamels way to much credit. I had the under. If he's the ace of their staff, Philly has got problems.

Come on, Hamels is still one of the best pitchers in all of baseball. Like the previous poster said, he had started to look like vintage Hamels lately after being injured early in the year, and this one rough outing will mean nothing in the long term.

                        LT,

Your wrong on this one. Camels will finish with a sub .500 record and and ERA near 5.00. He's a one hit wonder.

bob: you have nothing to base this on. hamels just didnt popup out of nowhere the end of last season and in the post season. he had been a young arm from their farm system who came up around 5 years ago and got better each year. this guy has one of the best change ups in the game and will be fine. can we atleast get to the allstar break before you start calling young world series mvp pitchers done?? if he were available right now every team that could afford him would line up and give phillies whatever they want for this guy and that you cant deny.

started to look like vintage Hamels lately? really? 3 of his last 5 outings have been flat out bad, 2 were very good but hes been anything but vintage.

He's definitely had his moments but he's got a long way to go, he doesn't have it right now.

I had Braves for -1.5 +205. Every time Braves face a lefty there is an 80% chance they will win or score enough runs to be in the game.

he pitched a ton of innings last year and has always had an injury history...a lot of people called a down year for him. i may have backed him once or twice this year.
