Toronto 1 unit @ 1.61 - Toronto 20-9 at home, KC 8-16 on the road. Noone slugs less than KC last three games, Toronto has good plate discipline and Hochevar might not find the plate. Tor also makes contact 90.4% of the time when swinging at the stuff that comes in the sz, not good news for a pitcher that has a .332 avg against him on balls that end up in play. Toronto knows how important these games are in the AL East, as for KC psychologically; they must hate the smell of that coffee. Richmond was good his last start vs. KC. I'm throwing a unit at it.

Hochevar is a decent pitcher, but he just gets flustered on the mound and gives in to nervousness. He allows too many baserunners, and the Birds will make him pay for that. Richmond is serviceable enough to get the job done as the Royals bats are cold as ice. Will they bust out the whoopin' sticks today? Only time will tell but at least on paper and line movement, this is a mismatch in the making.

The D-Backs are hitting very well right now. And I guess that I underestimated their bats a tad yesterday when I took the under on their game with the Padres only to have them crush the Padres and get the over by themselves. I usually don't go against a team that has been shutout in their previous game, but the advantages for Arizona in this game are hard to ignore. Oh how the mighty have fallen as the Padres are slumping and turning back into who we thought they were before the winning streak. I say the skid continues as they aren't hitting worth a shit these days and cannot get any salvation from their own park as it is a pitchers' park and home runs are like hitting pinatas blindfolded.

The Mets are still pissed abot the Pirates thing. The injuries on their roster actually is the only thing making this game's number as low as it is. With everyone healthy you get a Mets -135 or more here. What they have left in the cupboard is still gonna make a better cake than the Nats can. The Nats are atrocious and are in the midst of one of their famous skids right now. The bats are awful right now. 16 hits total over their last 3 games total which isn't so bad. When you factor in no home runs only 5 doubles and an average of .188 it is so bad. Lannan is not a bad pitcher. His supporting cast just is.

Drop St. Louis. Colorado is just crushing the ball right now. You may be alright with Detroit, although they aren't hitting. But Escobar hasn't pitche in the big leagues since 2007, and he can't possibly be ready for big league hitting with a bad start in his last AAA start. As gametime gets closer, I may throw a few shillings on the Tigers moneyline.

I don't believe in over bets, but if I played them that ARZ/SDG game would be a real candidate. Seven used to be a total reserved for Randy vs Pedro or something similar. It should not be assigned to pitchers with the track records these two have exhibited. The two starters have a combined ERA over 13 their past 3 starts. That is one of the craziest looking totals line I've seen all year.

I was just taking a first glance at tomorrow's lines. We've got Haren vs Peavy in the ARZ/SDG game Sunday and that one opened at 7.5- justifiably so. I still can't for the life of me figure out why Scherzer vs. Corejia opens and stays at the same number??
