Baseball really isn't a hard game if you play it the right way and I swear, just the last three days I've seen some of the dumbest decisions.
Tie game in the 8th and the Red Sox have 1st and 3rd w/ 1 out in the 8th inning the other day. Mookie Betts lays down a bunt and gets thrown out. No one scores. The next guy strikes out.
Then in extra innings the Red Sox have 1st and 2nd with no outs and "Don't bunt". The guys trikes out, no one moves, they don't score.
Like, do managers not know when they should and shouldn't bunt?
Today, Brandon Phillips leads off with a double and then he gets thrown out on the very next pitch trying to steal third base with no outs. Two pitches later Bruce gets single that would have scored him had he been on base.
Sometimes I just wonder wtf these players and coaches are thinking. With runners on first and second you have to get them over to second and third somehow. That should be your approach as a big league hitter.
