I will have two or three plays today.

Here is the first one. The Tigers lead the majors in runs scored and now a face a pitcher who posted a 5.78 ERA in 23 innings of work during the Spring. Tigers starter Lobstein struck out 10 in last year's matchup in Cleveland. The Indians are hitting .159 vs lefties so far this year and they will be without their starting catcher today, as well as Brantley. Martinez may be out today for Detroit, but it won't make a difference. Tigers are executing the battle plan against anyone in their path.

2nd Play.

Cubs' Kyle Hendricks is making his first season start today in Colorado. He started his season on the road last year and it didn't go well. He gave up 4 ER in 6 innings in Cincinnati. Colorado's Jordan Lyles pitched phenomenal in April last year (2.70 ERA) and it is shaping up again that way this year. He allowed only 2 runs in 6 innings at Milwaukee last week. He went 5-1 in Colorado last year.

The Cubs are hitting only .179 vs righties, and the Rockies bullpen has been one of the best in baseball so far. I will take the Rockies here even though Lyles has been shaky in day games. I just think that the Cubs offense won't pull it off two days in a row. And the Rockies are batting .321 vs righties. CHC are 5-14 in the last 19 meetings in Colorado.

If you look at the way Clay Bucholz pitched against the Yankees last year and the way Tanaka performed in 2014, you'd say there's no reason to back the Red Sox. BUT....look at what has happened this year, and the tables have turned. I am going to back the Sox for a sweep of the Yankees, for the simple fact that if Bucholz can go on the road and pitch a shutout against the Phillies last week, he can certainly do the same against the light-hitting Yankees and their flaky lineup. I don't understand the line on this game, but I will gladly take it as a gift.

i think the total pretty much says that oddmakers feel tanaka's issues are being greatly exaggerated..i have no clue, obviously he looked bad his 1st outing but a lot of pitchers looking bad vs jays early this season..
