I've been trying to fade Porcello for a while now. He just keeps winning, as does Detroit.
Pass for me, but I hope you hit it T. I'll even root against my team this once for you!

do you have any idea how highly touted he was as a prospect?
he's at his best whip (1.03) of his career - this is a kid who grew up in the bigs, and its taken him some time to figure things out.
he wont become an ace, but he has a 4 pitch arsenal and will be a solid #2 for the next few years.

I "get it" -- I just didn't expect this much progression this quickly. He hasn't gone from a borderline No. 5 to an ace overnight.

He was a higher-rated prospect than Verlander coming through the ranks.

yup...i remember hearing about him at a high school here in NJ.
its all about the improved defense for him. his babip has dropped below 300 and thats not a fluke. groundball pitcher benefiting from getting kinsler and moving miguel off the hot corner.
they'll win it this year...

Agree that the defensive improvement has helped. Kinsler has been a godsend. That trade was incredibly lopsided.
I hope you're right.

Tigers will prevail in close one or rout. You still have plenty of time left before make the final decision. Guys, don't throw your money. Tigers or no play!

watching porcello right now....havent seen him yet this year.
perfect mechanics....sitting around 92-93 which is higher then his avg of 90.4.
some pitchers get their velocity with the warmer weather, but hes always been around 91 avg.
curious to see what he can dial it up to. control is pin point.
