pettibone + phils game 1 doubleheader

Going to the game tomorrow...not sure I would call Pettibone nasty, and I would never count on this offense for a lot of runs.

Liked the Phils tonight, thought the Sox would be a little flat after the pseudo brawl with their rivals. Not sure what the day off does to that...

Enjoy the game Giroux! Thought Sox would come out flat after DET series too though day off may help. Like to wait for lineups in double-headers but laying off game 1, may wager WhiteSox game 2 pending lineups.

Petibone is not nasty. He has mediocre stuff, but had been able to get it done Thusfar this season. See ja happ and Vance Worley. He will be in a similar spot 2 yrs from now.

With that said, I see nothing wrong with riding him until if/when the wheels fall off, ESP with the way this team is playing right now. Utley should be in the lineup today (extra benefit that waiting an extra day gave you-- don't quote me on that tho, as I haven't seen a lineup card yet).

Bol today tho. I won't be on the game, but will be pushing for a Phills W.

Dlunc, read your post in the other thread, and I agree with you...this is a series that the 2013 Phils lose. All season, any time they make a push, they follow it right up with some type of letdown. Seems to good to be true that this team could go into the break above .500....if they win game one today, I would jump on the Sox in game 2 for sure.

Petibone has really good movement and a nice set of pitches he can make and throw diff ways, throw fast and good control, mixes velocity

For a rookie he is pretty nasty I donno what y'all r missing here he gets out of jams like a pro

This game is unreal. The Phillies had 2nd, 3rd with no outs in the 9th and couldn't score.

Then they had first and third with 1 out in the 10th and couldn't score.

The White Sox end up starting a rally with 2 outs in the 11th....
