Oswalt is a power pitcher.. or atleast that is his style of pitching unless he has suddenly re-invented himself.

In order for him to be effective his fastball needs to atleast be 93-94mph

Besides the fact the Nationals best hitter would legitimately be only the 5th best hitter on Boston, you have to add in the DH and they work the count they will be in to the bullpen by the 5th.

That's what I'm not understanding from that logic. Okay impressive he got a strikeout, it still counts as one out. Bottom line is he got tagged for 4ER in 5 innings, and it wasnt first inning jitters, a bad offensive team got to him.
