This team has been vastly overachieving for quite some time. Lineup is awful, their starters are overrated and Street is a bad closer. A big regression is coming.
It's time to start seriously fading the Padres

#3Will see what the books start doing as far as the numbers go. I've been seeing the linesmakers giving the Pads some respect recently, but your right Coin. Might be time to start fading them.Comment -

#7LOL. They just put up 3 runs to tie. They do this very often. U should reconsider posting info like this its irrelevant every team has a coneback look at sox lately or marlinsComment -

#9It's "irrelevant"? Ask italianbandit about SD's advanced stats offensively. Their regression is an inevitability.Comment -

#10It won't last all season. Who and why, do you think this happens???
U think padres bats will continue to not bat in RISP and pitching will not hold up? This is just a bold statement nothing factual or sports analysis.
Hell yes its irrelevantComment -

#11Maybe it lasts til all star break and a week into 2nd half but I don't see them in any way worth "fading" as a team.
Id love to see some stats r trends.
Padres are a resilient team and score late in game when they realize they have a chance they rally tough OFTEN.

#21Padres last 7 wins are come-from-behind wins. Fade them in the 1st 5 innings.
Don't just blindly fade them though....Especially at home. You have been warned.Comment -

It seems like They just Wait til their down 0-2 or 0-3 and see if pitching keeps them in the game , then they pull together all of the sudden and break out a win!!!
They have f#cked me many many times doing this.
Been loving padres +points live bets!!!!!! Been keeping me in the game playing vs thenComment -

#23I agree they worth fading but not often with Marquis, Stults or Richards. Mostly just Volquez n the other guy.... is it Cashner??
Stults is their ace , Marquis just having best year of his career, having been on a diff team every year for almost ten seasons. LOLComment -

This is the reason we all see a regression in line... you're giving us the facts yourself. This is the first time he's thrown more than 100 IP in now his 7th season and we're calling him an "ace"? That's scary.Comment -

#27this happens every year...weaker teams overachieve the first few months of baseball only to fall to last place in the end...the padres will 100% fall apart the second half of the season...Comment -

#28Two more games against Philly at home, then the Padres leave on a long east coast road trip @ Miami, Boston, and Washington. That's when I would fade them. Fade Volquez and Clayton Richard when he comes off of the DL. Pound Marquis, especially tonight at -123. Andrew Cashner has also been solid.Comment -

#35Since 6/25, the Padres have gone 1-12 (only win coming in Miami) ... call it what you will, but the Padres are not a good team. Good call No Coin, I've been right there with you. I'm comfortable to "fade" them any day of the week.Comment
