    WAR is worthless.
If there's no agreed upon formula for "wins above replacement" then its not a real stat. The idea that it almost got Mike Trout an MVP over the first triple crown winner in over 40 years is an embarrassment.

Trout has it all. Top-notch D ( you see that catch in Baltimore?) and dangerous speed on the base paths. Somehow I had both on my fantasy team last year, and still lost

Trout also played in an extreme pitcher's park.

You shouldn't need WAR to tell you he was the better player.

Much better baserunner, much better defender, his team won more games in a tougher division.

Oh, and Cabrera led the majors in another stat: hitting into double plays

He came to the plate with a lot of runners on base.

The point I'm trying to make is how can you even use WAR when there's no agreed upon definition?

shouldn't the trout/war people be all for manny machado over miggy this year too?

machado with tons of doubles and plays good defense. miggy however, is miggy and i'm a big fan of all the rbi's and hr.

If WAR works for you that is great.! For myself I can not seem to calibrate that info. with other data and reflect the WAR value for any given game.............more power to you.............gl
