    Insane line Thursday: SEA +153
Iwakuma's being totally disrespected here. I know it's Verlander and Detroit has the better offense, but the Tigers should be about -145 here at most -- not -163. JV is a notoriously slow starter in April, and Iwakuma's 2-0 with a 2.18 ERA, having beaten Darvish his last time out.

I'm not advocating a big play on the M's by any means, but you're crazy if you're laying that kind of juice with Detroit.

I'm trying to figure the StL/PHI line out as well. Hamels getting hit like crazy, Waino's in midseason form, Phils can't hit to save their lives, yet the game's a virtual PK?

I'm perplexed there, other than the fact that the Cards didn't exactly light the world on fire in Pittsburgh. Wainwright's been outstanding so far, though. I'm going to have to crunch some numbers on this one; maybe he traditionally struggles vs. Philly.

I see pretty good #s historically vs philly minus 1 bad outing years ago, current lineup doesnt really get to him either besides rollins 7 for 20

Vinnie where do you go for the pitcher statistics against a particular team?

go to espn and find the player and you can check their splits from the past 3 seasons combined or go threw every season individually or you can look at each seasons game log and do it that way or just google a baseball stat site

Hey no coin. You are steadily becoming one of the main reasons I check SBR of late. I was having almost this same discussion with the partner of mine who makes our bets. This is a line thats set to see what direction it's gonna go imo. Detroit is a public team (always will be same as st. louis, lad and nyy) and they have their ace in Verlander going tomorrow which has been a solid bet for 3-4 years now. Seattle is a sharps darling currently if you check cris and Pinny there have been huge wagers (for april mlb) coming in heavy on the M's RL all week vs Tex especially. My initial lean was seattle RL but I will be very interested to see where this number ends up. I'd be shocked to see Detroit climbs any further. My advice is pretty simple as I am not as sharp in this sport as I am in NCAAF
My plays are just logic based and steam bets.

However with all this said I like the under 3.5 first 5 both teams hitters just went 13 innings against two incredible pitching performances and I hate betting unders with teams like detroit and st. louis but there has to be a hangover here and I know verlander gets stronger as the game gets into the later stages but i see a lot of zeros here its a small play for me but I think its a decent one.
Hope everyone is well and BOL in whatever you decide to go with.

Giants are mighty tempting at that price now, Posey or no Posey.

Good luck, man. We'll see what happens. I agree that if the M's are going to get anything vs. V, it's going to have to be early. He's always been somewhat human in April though.

I can never win a game when on the Phillies with Hamels behind the mound. He gets touted as an "Ace" but always blows 4 runs within the first two innings when I am on him.

Fuk him, more tempermental than Greinke

Anybody have a weather report from seattle? I've seen 30-50% chance of rain in the 50's. not sure how i feel about JV if it ends up raining early

i agree...line is crazy high due to seattle's silent bats, and verlander's name.

"he's been knocked around a bit during his last four visits to Seattle. Detroit's ace has gone 1/3 with a 5.20 ERA over that stretch"
                            "
Detroit hasn't recorded a sweep at Safeco Field since April 21-23, 2006"

may have to take a flyer on seattle and hope that their bats wake up against verlander, depending on the lineup. the regular starters have respectable numbers against verlander.

Good stuff dude. Thank you. This is a live dog here. My favorite kinda bet. You get a lot more satisfaction outta of cashing on bets like these and it doesn't hurt quite as bad when you lose. I got more enjoyment last night cashing on a 1U bet on padres than I did on a 5U bet on the was RL.

Tigers have been awful at the plate the past two days.

This is what happens when you have a lineup with no speed that can't manufacture runs.

Thanks Wes. Safeco not built for a team like Detroit. They were lucky to win the series.
