Baseball Underdog Thread and Game Unders

Hey everyone. I will be running a system on baseball underdogs and also game unders. I will try my best to post everyday. I will also give you the criteria to qualify games so you can do it yourself if needed.

1. Eliminate games if the underdog has lost 3 in a row and/or the favorite has won 3 in a row.

2. Eliminate games in which the moneyline odds on the game are greater than +150 or so.

3. Eliminate games in which the underdog is facing one of the top 20 pitchers in Jeff Sagarin NPERA at USA today's website.


Betting the under

if both pitchers are in the top 20 in NPERA then I always bet the under.

I am currently using the Sagarin ratings from 2012 as of now.


i only bet 1.25% a game or you can do 2.5% of your bankroll per bet if you'd like.

The cubs/pirates game has both the 24 and 22 ranked pitchers. I almost went with the under 7. I will play the cubs but I leave it to you.

Ok rough start to this thread going 2-5. Again each bet is 1 unit each.

5 losses -5.1 units


overall record 2-5 units -2.78

I'm going to play this out for a month or so and possibly tweak some of the games I may eliminate or how I eliminate games.

philadelphia/Atlanta under 7 (melden was not in the top 20 but was in the top 5 of the next tier because he didn't have enough innings pitched).

i passed on the cubs because Pittsburgh pitcher was 27th in NPERA.

I've seen/tried that same underdog system, and you aren't supposed to start it until May after the pitchers have had a few outings. I never tracked it for the entire season, but from what I remember it was horrible for interleague play. Like I said I don't know if it's profitable for the entire season, maybe someone else here has backtested or experience.
