    bad line?
last nights yankee game, i bet +1500 that there would be no home run hit in the game. this was cancelled, they said it was a bad line. i noticed this during the game. they were unwilling or unable to provide me with what the correct line should have been. Was this a bad line? what should it have been? There wasnt a "yes a home run would be hit" line. it was a choice of a lot of players at + money on who would hit the first home run. thank you. Any game that involves Fielder and Cabrera with that type of line is definately a bad line.
    Worked out for ya!

      The bet was no homer.

I also bet no homer and same thing happened to me.

Yes, that's a bad line, especially with Justin Verlander pitching at spacious Comerica Park. If you had a prop on the Yankees hitting a homer in that game, NO would be the prohibitive favorite. I'd guess that line was intended to be +500, not +1500.

yisman...my argument made no sense whatsoever, but regardless it's a bad line.
Two solid pitchers, large field, cold night.......I dont know the numbers off hand, but I wonder how many games this year went without a HR?

Does anyone have this. I would guess in the 15% range.

Comerica is actually slightly above average in homers, according to Park Factor.

I don't know of any place that tracks this, but I'll look at the end of the regular season:

October 1: 1/15 had no homer
            October 2: 0/15
            October 3: 4/15
            September 30: 1/16

Six games out of 61 had no homer. Under 10%.

If you look at Tigers or Yankees games, I think you'd find it's even rarer.

this is not correct. there was a prop on whether verlander would yield a HR on 5Dimes. i dont rememebr what was favored but it was close to a pick em and thats just the starter, not including the bullpen

LOL, no home run in the whole game from both teams?
                  That should be negative odds!

This is called shot taking guys.......shops like 5d dont take kindly to this behavior.
I would bet no Home Runs every game of the year is I could get +1500, especially with big boppers in both lineups.

If I put $200 on every game at those odds, I would quit my day job.

dude, what the hell? you want to bet no homers when there are big boppers? You were saying having cabrera and fielder playing is a good thing for the bet???? huh????
if you bet every yankees game at those odds with 200 bucks you'd likely be broke *excluding playoffs

Yankees led baseball in homers this year by a long shot (31 more than 2nd place Baltimore). It was pretty rare for a Yankees game not to have at least one homer, and they usually had multiple homers.

i think i took a shot for a big payout. not a shot against a bad line.

so what is the fair market price?? it should be no home run +500/ yes-700?

I am asking, if the line i bet is not fair, what is a fair line???

I would think +500/-700 would be a fair line.

Cmon guys Verlander on the mound in October.....sure there is a good chance nothing is getting over the wall. I could care less who the opponent is or is Jeff Suppan is on the hump.

I would bet no Homer at +1500 every day, especially a cold October night at Comerica.

Exactly jrbaco. And that was with C.C. and Scherzer.......two very good pitchers!

+1500 was a bad line, and people took shots at it. Can't be upset it got cancelled.

i know there was no comeback on the +190 no home run, bat that is just as much a bad line as +1500 for no home run, if not worse. +190, would mean -230 or so on yes a home run. -230 on there being a homerun is defenitely a bad line.

+190 is not a legit line. They listed the other side as -9999.

So it's just as bogus as +1500.

Did they compensate you for the cancellation? It was their fault to put out bad line. The last time I had my play cancelled due to bad line, Heritage compensated me with free play for the entire amount. Now that's class act. I would have won too, but can't complain since I knew it was a bad line.
