The Vancouver Canucks host the Edmonton Oilers for tonight's Game 7, which begins at 9 p.m. ET at Rogers Arena. Here are our best Oilers-Canucks predictions based on the best NHL odds

The Vancouver Canucks and Edmonton Oilers have traded victories in this tense second-round series, which has seen five of six games decided by one goal. Those two meet one final time tonight at Rogers Arena in Vancouver for a decisive Game 7, with puck drop set for 9 p.m. ET on ESPN.

The Oilers are -138 favorites to beat the host Canucks and still hold respectable Stanley Cup odds even as they stare down potential elimination. They fought off a 3-2 series deficit with a resounding 5-1 home win in Game 6, though this series' previous results suggest a potential rally from the Canucks on their home ice.

Here are our best Oilers vs. Canucks predictions and NHL picks (odds via our best NHL betting sites; Pick confidence is based on a 1-to-5-star scale).

Oilers vs. Canucks predictions for today

Leon Draisaitl Over 1.5 points ⭐⭐⭐⭐

I wouldn't be able to score as many points with Leon Draisaitl in the Playstation 5 version of NHL 24 as he does in real life.

He leads all skaters with 23 points in 11 playoff contests, two more than Connor McDavid and five more than Evan Bouchard. Draisaitl has racked up 100 points in 60 career postseason games, a 1.67 points-per-game clip that's second all-time to another Oilers legend, Wayne Gretzky (1.84).

He's a freak of nature, and a combination of bullish strength, outrageous skill, and fierce competitiveness.

The forward has tallied 13 points against the Canucks, securing at least two in each contest except Game 5. Draisaitl is logging a ton of ice time while often double-shifting with the fourth line, creating additional matchup migraines for Rick Tocchet.

McDavid is another great two-plus-points bet. However, the +118 odds offered at FanDuel for Draisaitl are more appealing than a cold, refreshing lager after an intense workout. The odds imply a 45.87% probability, and a $10 wager pays a profit of $11.80 if it hits.

Under 6.5 goals ⭐⭐⭐⭐

The Canucks can't afford to get into a shootout if they stand any chance of prevailing in Game 7. The last three games have been tightening up significantly, with the Under hitting each time. Considering how much there is to play for now, Monday's decisive contest in Vancouver should follow a script similar to Games 4 and 5. Both teams will do everything possible to stay out of the penalty box, which should limit the number of high-danger chances.

The Under has hit during eight of the Canucks' games, including four of six home contests. FanDuel offers the best value of our best sports betting apps. A $10 bet pays a profit of $7.25 if the wager hits, with the odds implying a 57.98% probability.

Best odds: -138 via FanDuel

Oilers ML vs. Canucks ⭐⭐⭐⭐

I've backed the Oilers to make it to the Western Conference Final since the start of the season, and I won't deviate now.

Tocchet has done a fantastic job getting the most from his comparatively inexperienced group. And his team will be immeasurably better than it was during Game 6. However, the Oilers have been building toward this moment for years, with McDavid, Draisaitl, and Co. providing the push.

Their previous setbacks—including 2023 against the Vegas Golden Knights, and the campaign before that when they lost in the Western Conference Final to the Colorado Avalanche—have prepared them for what awaits in Vancouver. And I can't see the double-headed monster of Draisaitl and McDavid falling in the second round during consecutive seasons.

Lock in the Oilers to advance at -138, which pays a profit of $7.25 if your $10 wager hits.
