Tough match to bet. Paire really hasn't been that good on clay outside of his Belgrade title. Tomic obviously is a temperamental assbag, but I'm curious if he isn't here this week with some effort seeing as he took a wildcard entry here - although could just be to get in another match or more if he advances, especially since he lost early in Stuttgart. Still seems an odd entry to play another clay tourney with the Olympics up next. Of course no one ever accused him of being smart.

I did kind of like de Brito over Doi, but her odds are a little high @ -190

Thanks, I recouped some losses from this pick. I was a little worried in the second set, but once Paire went up 5-4 Tomic seemed to just give up.

Snowball, I didn't see this thread until now, but talk about great minds think alike! lol. Congrats on the cash

I was all over Paire after I woke up ... could not believe the line hadn't moved to -200. Too many people out there are on Tomic's nuts because of his ranking and what he did earlier this year and at the end of last year.

Mentally, this was an easy match for Paire. He was going against a guy who is in a funk and doesn't feel comfortable on clay in the first place. Paire had a huge advantage in terms of confidence, and it showed in that 6-0 first set.

Now, I understand that many of you want to bash Tomic for delivering a "bad effort," but if you've followed this kid and this sport this year, you'd know by now that he cannot be trusted. He is just not in a position to play great tennis at the moment, so it's expected that he'd look lifeless out there. Maybe he can rack up a couple wins early in hard-court season to gather some positive momentum, but for now, Tomic is one of the best fades out there.

Good pick dude. Still really don't understand what the F Tomic and his handlers were doing the last couple of weeks - scheduling him in clay tournaments. Seems like a really poor way to go about it when the guy needs confidence where hard courts or grass would have been much more suited to helping him gain that for the Olympics.
