#3Cadantu might be able to beat Schiavone. Depends on wether Schiavone is looking ahead to next week. She's been in poor form lately and looks like she has no interest in competing hard during a small tournament like this.
A more solid upset pick is Scheepers over Pavlyuchenkova, but it's only around +110. This is probably the safest plus-money bet, but it's no guarantee.
On the men's side, Edouard Roger-Vasselin has a solid chance for a win in this spot. But like Secheepers, he's far from a heavy underdog. I think he will take advantage of a good opportunity to grab a win at the ATP level.
Keep in mind that bad weather is likely to cause delays and keep your money tied up if you make a bet on any match that is scheduled for tomorrow.Comment -

Daydenko and Tomic should win ... if they play tomorrow. Tomic lost to Lacko once, but it was hard court and Tomic has actually shown a lot of improvement on clay this year. If the weather puts them in a spot where they have to play two matches on Wednesday, they might tank the first match just to get out of town and avoid the wear and tear.
Dimitrov is never a sure thing. I like his chances to beat Sela, but he's one of those players I never bet on just to be safe.
The weather is going to be a big factor in how Tomic, Davydenko and many other players approach their matches. They don't want to get hurt, and they don't want to play two matches in a day. This is not a great week for chalk with the French Open looming.Comment -

#15Sorry Paco, but I guessed wrong. The answer was Panova over Barthel ... Upset of the day.
I didn't think Barthel would be able to tank enough to lose this match without her intentions being obvious. haha. It's a shame I didn't mention this match just for its value, but I didn't see Panova pulling this off ... even against a disinterested Barthel. I wish I had bet Panova ML, but I guess I should also be thankful I wasn't stupid enough to take Barthel.
The good news is Scheepers is about to win, so at least I was correct in saying that it was a safe upset pick. But Panova had a very nice payoff to it if you were smart enough to see the upset coming.Comment -

#19Tsurenko could beat Radwanska. Radwanska cited an injury during the last tournament and likely has little desire to be at this tourney in Brussels. I think Radwanska is much more talented than Tsurenko and may be able to sleepwalk her way to a win, but Tsurenko's moneyline is a great value considering Radwanska has a decent chance to tank this match and get out of town.
I think Jovanovski has a shot to upset Kanepi, but Kanepi played well today and showed some desire. Perhaps this isn't the best spot for an upset, but Jovanovski could legitimately beat Kanepi when Kanepi is motivated. In fact, I believe she is 1-0 against Kanepi in her career. So if Kanepi goes into tank mode, Jovanovski's chances of winning will skyrocket.
On the men's side, it's really hard to gauge who is in the mood to advance in this week's tournament. I think there are three possible upsets that pay out well, but they are all based on the favorite wanting to just be one and done this week. You have Malisse over Isner, Dimitrov over Simon and Roger-Vaseelin over Almagro.
Honestly, all three favorites will win if they come into the match with the correct attitude. But with the French Open looming, I think you have a decent chance to profit if you fade all three ... Also, fading Gael Monfils could work. I wouldn't recommend it, though. I believe he actually wants to get a couple wins under his belt against inferior opponents this week since injuries have kept him out of action so often in recent times. I'm not going to bet Monfils ML tomorrow, but I'm not going to fade either. It could pay off if you decide to fade, though. You never know where that guy's head is at.Comment -

#20One more ... Radwanska's sister (can't spell her first name, but it starts with a U) is playing Bartoli. Bartoli didn't tank in the tourney before the French last year, but that tourney was in France. This one is in Belgium, and I think it's a sign that Bartoli doesn't want to wear herself out before next week. This one is another tough match to gauge because you have no idea how motivated Bartoli is ... Fading Bartoli or not betting is the best option when it comes to this match.Comment -

#24Scheepers lost ... upset of the day so far. Honestly didn't see that young Belgian chick no one has ever heard of getting another win in front of the home crowd, but apparently she's more talented than I thought. That was a missed opportunity there, and hopefully no one got burned by the juice on Scheepers ML. I think it was around -450, so obviously that could put a dent in someone's week.
I am stunned by Radwanska's inspired performance today. She made quick work of her opponent as she should, but this week of all weeks ... Hmmm. Why suck in tourneys that aren't right before majors and then actually act like you care despite being injured in a tourney that is less than a week before the French Open?
Then there's Bartoli. She has no legitimate reason to play hard this week, but wins four consecutive games after the younger Radwanska sister took the first three points of the match. WTF Bartoli? You can't lay down like all your buddies did earlier in the week?
SMH. WTA is mind blowing ... even the heavy favorites winning can be surprising results.
Anyway, it doesn't look like either of us is going to take a big hit off these upset picks. I'm disappointed, though, because the first two days of this week really made it seem like this was going to be a week where higher-seeded players wanted to fulfill their obligation for the smaller tournaments and get to Paris ASAP.Comment -

#27Well, I gotta give credit to Roger-Vasselin. He is hanging tough with Almagro. Almagro doesn't appear to be playing that hard, but his talent carried him through that first-set tiebreak. I don't see how the upset happens now, but at least Paco cashed on two dogs (and perhaps a third with Monfils still left).
Looks like all the favorites on the men's side (except maybe Monfils) will win today. I must say that this surprises me more than anything that's happened today, considering that Almagro and Simon have a solid chance to go on a nice run at the FO. What's worse is this adds even more confusion to tomorrow's card. Just because they won today doesn't mean that they want to try to win this tournament. They could easily tank tomorrow or Friday against an opponent of similar rank, and it won't look as bad on their resume ... Might be best to just not bet on any of the matches in Nice. We're looking for upsets that may not be there, but this isn't the week to bet on chalk.
On the women's side, upsets have been nearly impossible to avoid. I just wish I also faded Scheepers. I faded the girl Van Whatever was playing in the first round, and she burned me, and I think that lack of respect for Van Whatever led me to stay away from this match instead of dropping a small amount on her high-reward moneyline.Comment -
