Think it will be pretty difficult, but if Djokovic fails to win Slams and Roger can sneak one in - he might have a shot. Otherwise, if Djokovic comes out to play @ Slams and wins one or two ... very unlikely because Federer's only chances would be to win almost all the Masters events. He certainly is closer after five months than he was to start the season because of his fantastic run and Djokovic not defending some of the tournaments he won, but Fed basically has to have a Djokovic-like season to get back there. Will be interesting to watch.

Crazy to think that Fed has only lost 3 matches since choking that one away to Djokovic at the US Open.

I don't think it's make or break. Obviously a big swing, but really any tournament Djokovic is in this season is a chance for others to gain points since he won damn near everything last year.

I hope Fed gets there. I'll be cheering him on tomorrow. Just as a fan though. No way I'm putting a penny on that super coin flip match.

Fed would help his cause by winning the French Open, but I don't see Djokovic and Nadal allowing that to happen.

Also realize if Nadal wins in Rome, he leaps back into 2nd from what I understand.

Yeah, that's why I think its vital for him to win this so he can be on the easier side of the draw in Roland Garros

We should see Nadal at his best in the finals vs Djoker/Federer on Sunday.

highly unlikely, french open is nadal's for the taking and seeing how novak's been a mug since winning the aussie open, nadal also has a good chance to win wimbledon if he can stay healthy

us open is the only slam where rogi has a realistic chance and even there, he wont be a favorite

the way federer is serving right now, he should be the favorite in wimbledon over both rafa and novak, but not a lot, but you never know whether he stays healthy, especially back issues can hurt his serve drastically and then his chances decrease a lot. he should skip halle if he goes a long way at the french

Highly unlikely. He can't get past Nadal or Djokovic which means he can't win another major.

changing my mind since yesterday. djokovic has created a matchup problem for federer as well, his backhand is better than feds forehand. unbelievable how inconsistent fed is playing

wouldn't read too much into Fed loss yest vs. Djoker

these Masters are set up back-to-back and it creates deadduck historical situations... ie, players dropping off in Miami, Rome and Cincy.

Fed has had drop-offs in Miami and Rome. if you look at his previous matches leading up to the Djoker match and you watched him, he looked a little spent... guy had just won in Madrid and then came into Rome.

for example, look at Delpo getting blasted in Rome

Djoko vs. Fed in the FO... I'd still favor Fed. Fed vs Rafa in FO ... Rafa works Fed's asshole

Fed needs Djoker to take out Rafa... but organizeers won't comply and put Djoko/Rafa on one side ... and Fed on another... this alone cancels out major opps for Fed
