See you tomorrow. This one is going to a 5th set. Monfils broken already. They may not finish the 4th though. Can't imagine they will be playing much longer. Actually might benefit Monfils if they stop right here, only down 0-2. Think losing the whole set and starting a winner takes all set tomorrow - he'd be at a disadvantage.

Think they are done right now.

in the two previous sets he was broken and broke back immediately in the next game.

He's already been hobbling around after he extends himself on points and lands in awkward positions when Ferrer forces him way wide. In any case, it's too bad he did not start strong in the 4th. Really did not need to put any hope to Ferrer.

He got broke early though in the 2nd and that was when Ferrer rolled. We'll see what happens.

Be interested to see if any books hang an overnight line on this. My bet is only for SBR points, but anyone who has real money on Monfils might want to consider taking some sort of hedge on Ferrer if it's good + money.

It's 2nd up on the same court as today. Foillows Chela-Falla which begins at 5am ET. So start time likely to be about three hours later at minimum I would expect. It's all dependent though on how long that 1st match takes.

Well starting down 0-2 in the set doesn't help your confidence that he could win this set. I think it is important that even if he cannot get that break back that he at least plays well and plays even with Ferrer to have confidence going into a 5th set.

Monfils definitely did not deserve to win that match. Ferrer made some really dumb decisions in shot selection in rallies he was winning and made some shitty errors at the end. Now I can see why Ferrer doesn't go further in events with his game. He chokes. Even that loss to Dolgo last week, the type of shit forehands he hit at the end. That's WTA stuff.

Cannot believe I actually broke my losing streak with this pick. Wow. Thought he was a goner after choking away his 1st chance to serve out the match in the 5th.

Don't be a fool in the next round guys and think that since Monfils beat Ferrer, he can beat Federer.

Monfils did beat him last year on an indoor surface, but Roger has beaten him twice at the French Open already. Federer knows much better how to play him. As I said to start this thread, the stupidity of Monfils game somehow Ferrer has trouble with. Federer, not so much. Do expect it to be competitive though, not a blowout.
