I am going to roll with rafa in the second match that i am playing today.There is not much to add here except that Rafa owns Monfils in the Head to Head record with an impressive 7-1 in favor of Nadal.Every time i watch Nadal play especially on clay makes me wonder how can someone fight for every point and end up winning most of them.Make no mistakes about this,Monfils will have to slog his arse out today in order to win games against Nadal.If he does rely on his strategy of trying to outplay Nadal from the baseline,then he can pretty much bid this match goodbye before it begins because Nadal will kill him in the long rallies.

These two have met thrice on clay and Nadal has beaten him comfortably on all 3 occasions.The recent meeting on clay was last year in madrid where Nadal defeated him 6-1,6-3.Before that these two met on clay long back in Rome in 2006 where Nadal defeated him 6-2,6-2 and 2005 in Monte Carlo Where once again Nadal won 6-3,6-2.Monfils is coming off a win over richard gasquet and will be looking to compete with Nadal but given the World Number 1's menacing presence on clay,i expect this to be another easy outing for Rafa and he should cover this one.
