considering his potential opposition in the final, he is most likely to retain his title

fed is unable to counter montanes serve, if this goes to a tiebreak fed will loose, his best chance was those 2 break points in the 4th game and he choked

not random tournaments
but tournaments like this one which are essentially preparation for grand slams are very indicative of player form, fed took a long vacation after AO and it shows, personally I thought he would have atleast tried to get into form so close to a GS
players have to turn their game on gradually, if he thinks he will go into the RG and just turn it on he is in for a disaster, especially since he's played so little and so bad on clay

It's a pity that I couldn't pull the trigger for Montanes winning at least a set. Instead, I took the over which is already a winner.

with this sort of results, federer will be -120 to players like Cilic and Wawrinka on French Open and it will be hard to fade him at those prices...

How many consecutive finals has he missed? I believe this is the 4th.
