FRIDAY, MAY 4th
French Open.
Tomas Berdych +2,5 & Rafael Nadal -2,5.
Risking 1.25 to win 1.00
YTD: (43-22), +30.67 units.
Short write-up. Tomas Berdych +2,5.
Frankly, I can't overvalue Söderling's win against Federer. Of course it's always something special to beat Federer, but without hesitation we can say that FedEx hasn't been extremely convincing on clay yet. To be honest, I also didn't expect Söderling to win 3-1, but it didn't surprise me that much. In fact it's obvious that Berdych is "the unknown" one of them, and Söderling profits by being in the finals last year. Both do have a solid serve without much highlights in their variety. To sum up, I don't see Söderling winning straight against Berdych who is in a good form so far. Berdych should win at least one set.
Short write-up. Rafael Nadal -2,5.
If this bet has some value is open to dispute but, as parlay material it's worth a shot. Melzer coming with a huge victory over Djokovic. A lot of us expected Melzer to win at least a set, but how many of us did also bet on Melzer to beat Djoker? Honestly, I did not. That game was decided after 5 sets and it was a tough game for the Austrian. But again I have to say that I'm not going to overvalue his win over Djoker. Novak didn't convinced me at all at RG, especially his performance against the Japanese hart court player Nishikori was embarrassing. I don't think that Melzer will be fit, physical as well as mental. As for Nadal, I also have to say that he's not playing his best tennis, but what we actually can say is, that even this is good enough to win this tournament without much problem. Almagro didn't play bad against Nadal, but at the end Nadal got his straight win. I don't see any other setting here as well. Even if Melzer won't crushed - and I personally think Nadal will get an easy win - he won't be able to steal a set from Nadal.
