Here is my betting "key" for anyone who travels along this path with me all season. This way you don't have to ask how much I am risking, etc. I don't ever play more than "to win one unit" on tennis. Flat betting for me is the only way that you can try to enjoy yourself in tennis.

BOLD BLACK = Risking 0.5 unit on dogs/To Win 0.5 unit on favorites
BOLD GOLD = Risking 1.0 units on dogs/To win 1.0 units on favorites

As you’d expect with the opening tournament for these players, there are going to be upsets. In 2014, two seeds dropped their first matches here and the semis saw the #1, #2, #8 and unseeded Hewitt. In 2013, two seeds again dropped their opening matches in Brisbane. The semis featured two unseeded players and the #1 and #5. Going back to 2012, two seeds again bit the dust in their first matches of the season. The semis that year featured the #1, #2, #3 & #8.

Julien Benneteau should wipe the floor with Kokkinakis.
I've seen Kokkinakis struggle to put away ITF players.
And Duckworth is a marginal talent.. against Gilles Simon ?
If they have an advantage it's home court, home temps,
whatever it may be.. but you wouldn't be taking them during
the "regular season" on another continent, would you ?

I think Kokkinakis is a future talent, only needs more reps against the big boys I think to grow his confidence. He's still green, but I think this is definitely a decent shot for him today.

I wouldn't be shocked if Melzer won, tough match to call. Also gotta remind myself to start parlaying some of the +1.5 sets props instead of going for high chalk on outright MLs some times.
