I can't say I'm shocked Federer lost. I left after the first set and came back in as the third set was about to begin. I was shocked to see him lose the 2nd set by that scoreline and am going to go watch the 2nd set later this afternoon out of curiosity. Fed couldn't get a first serve in during the third set and when Gulbis handed him the match he gave it right back. Very rare to see Federer make so many mistakes on his forehand and missing by so much. Really wanted to see a Nadal-Fed semifinal to I can see Nadal give Fed another clay court lesson :-)

Tough break here. Roger has been eliminated now in the 4th, 3rd and 2nd round in his last three appearances. Interesting to see this French Open draw ;-)

I can't say I'm shocked Federer lost.

Your right about that. Playing on Clay is different than any other court, you need to play consecutive games on clay to get a good rhythm going. Gublis has been on clay for the past few tourneys now, and Fed was very rusty just really training stamina til now. I warned some ppl about not taking Fed yesterday on a thread, thought it'd be a close match, but definitely didn't think Fed would lose....
