Tsonga is hurt though. Fed will either rally and win in 3 or Tsonga retires.

#39Tiebreak time. Fed fights off 3 match points at 0-40 to tie it at 6 and go to a tiebreak where he is already mini broken. Lets just say if Fed loses this match it is going to be a public burial. You should see how much was matched at 1.01 and 1.02 odds on Fed....scareyComment -

#40unbelievable Federer loses after being up 2 breaks in the third set. Tsonga tanked the second set and didnt even look like he wanted to play in the third and somehow comes back to win this match. of the 15 million matched on betfair, 13 million of that was bet on Federer. Feel bad for those people....in the third set when fed was up two breaks you couldnt even have bet Federer if you wanted to
Here are some of the matched odds
1.01 $560,320
1.02 $302,180
1.03 $615,533
1.04 $54,783
1.05 $179,738
1.06 $161,838
1.07 $5,519
1.08 $21,660
1.09 $109,328
1.10 $91,292
1.11 $3,265
1.12 $39,255
1.13 $395,584
1.14 $139,660
1.15 $245,161
1.16 $800,293
1.17 $1,899,28
Unbelievable scenes. I liked Murray to win this tournament even having to play Federer and with Roger out I like Murray even more now. Still in shock and cant believe thisComment -

#41Money pouring in on Djokovic over Roddick in the last couple of hours. Roddick was the favorite at one point at about -120 or so and now Djokovic is the small favoriteComment -

#43Im feeling gun shy about the matches tonight.I think Djokovic and Nadal will win but I am not sure if I am confident enough to bet them.Made money on Murray today so dont want to blow it on one of the late matches that I am iffy on. I think if I had to take one of the two, I think Nadal has the best chance of winning tonight. Roddick/Djokovic match is probably exactly what the odds state, a toss up, but as I stated above, big money coming in on Djokovic. I am going to pass on both matches. Good luck Shhhh2 if you choose to bet the matchesComment -

#45Djokovic match going as expected so far. Pretty much dead even as odds indicate.I favor Roddick in a match of tiebreaks because he has been in more pressure situations over the last couple of months as compared to Djokovic who has been lacking the confidence since the change to the new racquet.Comment -

#47haha quite possibly or maybe Fed just didnt want to face murray in the semis so he packed it up
I guarantee that Tsonga and his injury timeout made it so that Fed thought the match was over and that he was going to coast so he just played out the third set two breaks up and the first break happened and then Fed thought everything was fine and he would just hold his next serve and then he went down 0-15 and 0-30 on his serve and then Fed started to shit his pants and then it all went downhill from thereComment -

#48Nadal seems to be getting the support moneywise. His price has drifted to -162 at my book. Not huge movement though. I think he's probably the guy to take. Perfect situation for him. Federer got punked today. Del Potro is the hottest ATP player right now, so a Nadal win would put him right back on top in most people's eyes ... plus he's getting DP possibly fatigued.
Also read some stuff that Del Potro might be having shoulder issues.Last edited by EaglesPhan36; 08-14-09, 07:25 PM.Comment -

#49Well I am glad that I didnt follow my leans for the two night matches. Both Djokovic and Nadal lost. Blah. Nadal had the minibreak in the tiebreaker 2 times I think and blew them both.Dissapointing to say the least.Djokovic was a toss up as the odds indicated so him losing isnt as surprising since Roddick is one of the hottest players right now
A couple matches left for Saturday. Murray is -390 over Tsonga. As I have stated numerous times in this thread, I think Murray is going to win this tournament. Tsonga is the next opponent for him and eventhough Tsonga has a 2-1 head to head record against Murray there are several reasons to look at Murray. First off Murray is playing very well in all of these masters series events. Hes more dedicated at bettering himself as opposed to Tsonga who has a habit of being lazy. Also how many times do you see a player pull off a huge upset win only to totally shit the bed in his next match?Happens all of the time. I think Tsonga is up for a bit letdown here. Also remember in the second set that Tsonga was having issues with I believe it was his shoulder. It looked like he was almost ready to retire at the end of the second set and the start of the third set but the Federer choke let him get back in the match. Was the injury timeout just a strategic move by Tsonga or was it a potential injury that we should worry about? Tsonga has always had injury concerns throughout his career so the chances of the injury being real are there. Murray is definately the play tomorrow, the question is, is -390 worth it? Very tough call.......I need to sleep on this one and see how I feel tomorrow.
Roddick/Del Potro
Del Potro has won both times the two have played. This match is so similar to the Roddick/Djokovic match. It is just to close to call really. Picking a player to win here is just like flipping a coin. Both players are on great runs in the past few months. This match has STAY AWAY written all over it. If I had a gun put to my head I would pick Roddick to win this match and avenge the loss at Montreal in the finals. No matter who wins I will be picking Murray to beat them in the finals. Just hope the price will be nice. Would be kinda good to see a Murray/Del Potro match in the finals since they have a heated rivalry going for many years....every time I see Del Potro I think of "Always the same.........just like your mother.... shes always the same..." Classic. Most of you know what I mean when I say that haha
Best of luck tomorrow guys. Will post on here if I will take that Murray bet or not. Im kinda on the fence with it right now. Look forward to hearing what you guys thinkComment -

#50I still think in a non-slam, -390 for any match involving two top 10 players is not a good idea. At that price, Tsonga is worth a small play vs. taking Murray at huge chalk. On hard court, Tsonga has the possibility of keeping it tight IMO.Comment -

#51Ya I agree that the odds are a bit to high. What I am going to do it take Andy Murray and parlay it with a couple other baseball games. That way if I lose the damage is minimal. Going to pass on the Roddick match
Good luck today guysComment -

#52Smart play with the parlay, that's the only way I do tennis when it's -200 or more (mostly). I so want to put something down for tonight, but it is just a coin flip. Both are playing so well right now and that match last week was about as even as you can get, although I do think Andy should have won last week - but he F-ed up in the 2nd set.Comment -

#53I agree that Roddick has some revenge on his mind so he is a little more motivated then normal to win this match tonight but im not confident enough to bet it. Glad Murray won so I am just going to watch the Roddick match and not stress about it.
Going to be a good final tomorrowComment -

#54Well the odds were right on for that Del Potro/Roddick match. Pretty much 2 or 3 points in that whole match decided the outcome. Glad to see a Murray/Del Potro final because of all of the hositility that these two have towards eachother. The extra motivation derived from that will make this a very high level match. Del Potro has complained all weak about how tired he is but he keeps on winning and he is having very hard fought matches you just have to wonder how much longer he can grind at it.These players have met 4 times with Murray winning 3 of them. The last time they played Del Potro won the match but that was on clay where Murray is not very good. The two times they played on hardcourt Murray won both. Ive stated in previous threads and I am going to state it again, I have liked Murray to win this tournament for a while now and I am not going to jump off the train in the finals. -211 is not the price that I would have liked to bet for this match but I think this is Murrays match for the taking. Going to be very interesting to see how Murray and his team have game planned this final match. I guarantee that Murray is going to use his low slices to frustrate Del Potro. You saw how Roddicks low slice was affecting Del Potro because he loves to have the ball higher up so he can use his powerfull groundstrokes but its to bad that Roddick is not able to play this shot well and not able to play at the net well. Murray will also dictate the tempo of the match which frustrates the hard hitters, just ask Tsonga how it went today. Murray forces the other player into making errors.
Murray wins tomorrow guys. Lets cash this and get read for the Rogers Cup part two with the ladies starting monday. Best of luckComment -

#58Yeah. DP is fantastic, but this match shows that you probably shouldn't waste a futures pick on him at the US Open. Dude doesn't appear to have the stamina for best of 5 sets. Of course some of this also is playing consecutive tourneys and going to the finals vs. Murray just coming back for this tourney. Still...Comment -

#59Agreed.The best of five sets will wear on del Potro since he likes to play the long grind it out type of matches.
Well a win is a win and its a good way to finish the tournament with an Andy Murray win. If it wasnt for the piss poor first days of the tournament then it would have been alot better money wise but ill take it. Quick turnaround tomorrow with the ladies Rogers cup event. Should be good. Will be back later on tonight with some opening day plays plus some potential futures betsComment
