College players could have beat Fritz tonight. He is lost on
clay. This may be the best time for play I’ve seen in a long time. Thursday is the match.

And that makes Ryan Harrison is a clay court expert? He's 10-21 career on clay. I'd say they're equally bad on the surface.

Nah.. This isnt a classic Clay court... this is like a hard court, its faster with a bit of clay. Harrison has way more experience on this surface than fritz. Fritz is still developing his game for all courts.

Yeah i dont see Harrison taking Fritz to the woodshed here, however he should still win this match. Probably 7-6 6-3 type deal

I watched Fritz and Harrison yesterday. It was night and day. Fritz at the net or mid court was a complete disaster. He looked like he was on ice skates. Foot work very very poor. It’s not about Harrison being good it’s anout Fritz looking lost. It was horrific. Just my two cents.

Agreed but Fritz on clay was college level at best and not Stanford.

Thank god inposted this. Made my play much smaller with the opinions of others. Watched the match can figure out why he allowed Fritz to play from baseline and not dear him
in or force him to create off mid range shots. Smh

Well they don't count Randy Johnson's minor league W/L in the HOF stats. He beat up on American teenage amateurs on the Challenger tour. When he plays real ATP world-class players on clay, he sucks.

Top 50 guys play challengers even lower ranked sometimes, he played in one a couple years ago and beat 3 clay courters. He won a clay challenger 5 years ago none of these guys are teenagers and theyre all pros. Didnt watch the match but if Alex assessment was correct then it was probably a matter of Ryan just not employing the brain to win. But I agree crapshoot, he's not gonna beat many on clay outside of challengers.
2 Americans playing a hard-court style on clay. Flip a coin. Harrison pretty much quit after he got down in the 2nd set, giving Fritz the confidence he needed to win the match. I would say they both looked like they were playing a hard-court style on clay. Fritz actually looked better sliding defensively.
