A little late but don't know what you coulda watched last week that hinted Serena could beat a player like Osaka right now. You must have just not watched her.

She's fat, sloppy, her footwork is horrific, she's gassed after a few sprints, looks like she's gained 50 lbs easily from her last playing weight in 2017 even with those spanxx shes wearin.
There's no way she's been training much during her off-time.
She has a LONGGGGGGGG way to go.
I get the feeling looking at her on the court that she thought she could half-ass it and still win matches when she came back like she did in the past after injuries.
A lot's changed since last year with the confidence of some of these women now and there is no longer a dominant player in the game.
Serena will have to work this time around at her age if she wants to win another slam anytime soon.
