Djokovic/Nadal in match thread

If I was forced at gunpoint to make a play, it would be on Nadal if you can get +140 but there are no real edges to be found here.

This market is very deep with heavy volumes and is moving back and forward by a cent at a time. Little different to the Superbowl next week.

No play for me. Should be a great match though.

If Djoker has the energy to get into positions to take the ball as early and flat to the Nadal backhand as he did in their matches last year, he will win. He has looked very flat/fatigued in his last two matches though and that appears to be a big if.

Anyone watch the mixed double finals....Paes is really good but made a terrible choice in his partner. Vesnina is just TERRIBLE...Ive seen high school players play better than she did. Paes stepped up his game and it was like she didn't have a clue out there. I think Paes could have done better playing 2 on 1 and letting her just sit on the sidelines as she made SOOO many errors.

I haven't been watching but I guarantee you're talking about BMS. She's a shocker. I can't remember which player said it in their Kia Open Drive iv but they named her the biggest tennis fashion disaster so far this year.

And this is why I always caution about blindly looking at stats without digging deeper:

3 of the 4 past AO champions have all won in straight sets in their Semis before going on to win the Final. The only one who didn't was Nadal. So depending on how you look at it, not sure a guy who wins in straights really is going to be bothered by the lack of rest, no? Be careful with the stats tennis reporters throw out... they live on soundbites to make themselves sound knowledgeable to someone who tunes into tennis maybe during Slam finals. They're not geared towards a bettor.

the more i think about it the more i think the only way joker loses this is if he comes in overconfident from beating nadal so many times recently.. causing unforced errors, and he plays uncharacteristically. Otherwise it's hard for me to see him losing. Nadal may have augmented his game a bit, but I think it's too soon to fully cover the gap between the 2, and nadal's contrasting style that has been cemented for years. You can't just change like a flick of a switch, its not that easy when going up against the #1 player in the world.

I mean, nadal just said yesterday that the revisions to his game need more tournaments and months to perfect. He said he needs refinement time. Unless he was playing possum with those statements, its hard for me to see him winning today. Making a small to medium size wager on joker here. But deep down I want Nadal to win as I like him a lot more as a person and character than Djok

Roof closed if I'm not mistaken actually doesn't make it as good as one expects ... if I remember from a few years ago ... unless they have changed something. Believe it turns it into an indoor oven with shitty air circulation. Shari can probably lay down the 411 on this.
