I like Petkovic +130. I bet on CSN last match against Venus, but I don't see her winning here. I think Andrea exploits the CSN backhand and eventually wears her down.
Thoughts?

I see CSN more likely to win
CSN is playing solid this year. Mentally i see CSN stronger.
She has variety of play selections.
These two were going to meet this year in Antwerp, indoor final, but CSN withdrawed due to neck issue.
Navarro seems to be in much better form than she was in Antwerp. And Miami is a slow court.
All these say CSN to me

got to go with Petko. The court is NOT slow this year. Petko is playing her best tennis.
She will hammer CSN, pound her to the back court and win. All she has to do is play
with the same level of consistency she has been doing.

The court is the third slowest (HC) on the entire tour, according to statistics.

it's not living up to the slower reputation this year. perhaps the acrylic layer is different. whatever it is,
watching the matches i do not see a slow court at all. i made the mistake of going with Dimitrov over Isner
based on slow court - have made that back by ignoring it. I'll take the eye test over anything else when it
comes to court speed.

Exploit her best shot? CSN's backhand is the best one hander since Justine Henin. Poor angle imo.

I think CSN ultimately wins this, but Petko should be able to take a set.
My play is Petko +1.5 sets @ 1.53

I'm on CSN for sure. Just not sure in what capacity.
I'm very tempted to take an alternative handicap. -4.5 @ 2.80 or -5.5 @ 3.75.

Agreed, Petko playing so well and is so focused I can see it in her eyes when she's moving and hitting, she's hitting with length, pace, and moving well. Saw the last time they played, CSN just seems a matchup problem for her though when both are playing relatively well. I can see Petko at least taking a set, but thats only if CSN is slow to start, in the end I see CSN winning if she doesnt get frustrated or is in any kind of funk for a long time. Never get tired of seeing CSN's backhand, its a thing of beauty, so much control.

Agreed, its the most beautiful thing in tennis to watch, wont be no exploiting there, one can exploit Fed's when he's not on or even other one handed backhanders, but not CSN's backhand. She'd have to really be out of form for that to happen and thats not he case right now.

I see it slow as always, watched Rosol trying to hit bombs against Ferrer, you just cant penetrate these courts unless you have a pretty big opening.

I think that all one-handed backhands can be exploited if hit to enough. I believe Petkovic is just at a high level this tournament...

Typically, it is said that single-handed backhands have two distinctive disadvantages:
1. They are vulnerable (unable to handle, relative to their two-handed counterpart) to heavy top-spin.
2. They cannot create the same angles as a "flicked" two-hander can.
Petkovic does like her top-spin, for what it's worth. This doesn't all mean that the one-hander will be exposed, but it might be. The German has been the more convincing and consistent of the two this tournament so far.

The difference in natural talent and ball striking abilities between these two is about as big as you'll EVER see between two top 15 players.
